Last night, American Idol lovers watched as the final 11 battled it out to become the next Kelly Clarkson. And while we have to wait for tonight to see who’s getting axed, we’d like to take a moment to discuss two of the front runners: Siobhan Magnus (who sang Stevie Wonder’s Superstition) and Crystal Bowersox (who sang Janis Joplin’s Me and Bobby McGee).

Kelly Cutrone stopped by E!’s Chelsea Lately Monday night to talk about her new book and both (count ‘em: two) of her TV shows. But the Momma Wolf is not one to show up empty-handed. Instead, she arrived with a pink, bedazzled whip in one hand, and a huge bag of vibrators in the other.

The New York Times has just reported that Stefano Tonchi, the former editor of T, The New York Times Style Magazine, was just named the Editor In Chief of W Magazine. According to The New York Times, staff members at T will be officially informed of the news at 11:30 a.m. at an all staff meeting.

On Wednesday, Condé Nast that it would be moving W Magazine out of the Fairchild Fashion Group, which also currently owns WWD and all of its offshoots. According to their press release: “Patrick McCarthy will continue in his role as chairman of the Fairchild Fashion Group through the end of the year. As part of the restructuring, an editor in chief of W will be named by Thomas J. Wallace, editorial director of Condé Nast.” So who’s it going to be? Our best guess: Creative Director of Elle Magazine, Joe Zee.

Glamour went extra glam this month for their 50 Most Glam Women of 2010 issue. Leighton Meester, Amanda Seyfried, and Zoe Saldana each graced their own April cover, wearing a minidress more sparkly (and shorter) than the next.It’s hard to choose a favorite; each girl looks absolutely scintillating. Their hair is perfectly fan-blown and their eye makeup exquisitely smudged. (And their images most likely perfectly airbrushed, but that’s a post for another day.) Here’s a round-up of the three covers, each of which possessed a youthful energy that got us excited for Spring!

This month marks Elle’s Work and Power issue, and many will wonder why the magazine opted for a just-out-of-her-teens superstar. While Taylor Swift is undeniably popular, would it not have made more sense to put someone a little, well, older on the cover? Today, Vogue unveiled their highly anticipated free iPhone application, Vogue Stylist. Rather than an application that takes users through the editorial they are already seeing on the pages of an issue, Vogue Stylist aims to inform users of the hottest trends from the pages of Vogue, and style those trends in conjunction with one’s own personal wardrobe.

Tomorrow will mark the launch of LVMH’s new “arts and luxury media” website, NOWNESS.com, which the fashion world has been waiting for since the end of the company’s former e-commerce site, eluxury.com. After the individual companies held by LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton began getting their own personal e-commerce sites, LVMH shut down eluxury.com in January of last year.

High fashion is well on it’s way to being a 2.0 enterprise. The next major fashion label to jump on the streaming of the fall 2010 runway shows? Today, Gucci announced that FW 2010 Women’s collection will be streaming live, accessible through links on both the Gucci Facebook page and through the events section of the popular Gucci iPhone Application. It doesn’t stop there.

According to the Daily Mail, British fashion designer Alexander McQueen has committed suicide. The Gucci Group confirmed his death releasing the following statement, “‘It is a tragic loss. Window displays and advertisers have been gearing up for Valentine’s Day. Some storefronts fill their windows with an explosion of crimsons and pinks, while other companies adhere to the age-old advertising law: sex sells. But Armani Exchange may take the cake for this year’s Valentine’s oversexed ads which picture three couples – a gay male couple, a heterosexual couple, and lesbian couple – oiled up and lustfully embracing.

Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodovar exploded onto the international cinema scene with his 1988 feature-length comedy Mujeres al borde de un ataque de nervios (Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown), and quickly became arguably the most important Spanish filmmaker of his time. Almodovar has caught the attention of major fashion magazines in the last few months, first with a 14-page feature in the December/January issue of French Vogue, and, now, the March issue Harper’s Bazaar.

Since the September issue of Vogue a few things have become clear. When rumors surfaced that editor-in-chief Glenda Bailey was putting Janet Jackson on the cover of the October issue of Harper’s Bazaar following the tragic death of her brother, many wondered whether the magazine had finally sold out. Well we can now confirm said sellng out, now that the stars of teeny bopper favorite Twilight and the wildly anticipated New Moon were announced as next month’s cover stars.

Famed fashion photographer, Irving Penn, died today at the age of 92 at his home in Manhattan. A much valued contributing photographer at Vogue, Penn quickly became a tastemaker. His ability to portray fashion with clarity landed 150 of his photographs on the fashion bible’s cover and a lengthy, 40 year stay at the publication.

Earlier last month, Mediaite.com broke news that Harper’s Bazaar would be shooting Janet Jackson for their October Cover. An odd choice by Editor in Chief, Glenda Bailey, since it has been three years since her Ms. Jackson’s last fashion magazine cover. What’s the result?

The September Issue, released in theaters this past weekend, follows Anna Wintour and her Vogue flock through nine months worth of planning, shooting, and laying out for Vogue’s 2007 September issue — fashion’s annual bible. 2007′s issue marked the publication’s largest issue in history, a stark contrast from this year’s September issue, which now sits on newsstands looking as skinny as its creators. But what appeared on the surface to be a movie about the world of high fashion quickly developed into much more.

Miley Cyrus’ controversial Vanity Fair spread may have been in the name of art, but there was nothing artistic about cavorting around a stripper pole on an ice cream cart in shortie-shorts doing oversexed dance moves at Monday’s Teen Choice Awards. Miley’s fame and fan base will not be affected by Monday’s dance. But the shift into overdrive of Miley’s sexualization cannot go unnoticed. From VF all the way to the stripper pole, this girl is growing up fast. Or being grown up fast.

Despite the online juggernaut that is PerezHilton.com, from a fashion perspective, Perez’s new fashion site, CocoPerez is, to put it lightly, a yawn. Can a blog exist on Anna Wintour hatred and Gossip Girl obsession alone? I think not. And so far it looks like that’s all Perez, er Coco, has to offer.
