Duff Goldman has officially broken out across all markets: today, a Charm City West wedding cake was up for bid on a special “soon-to-be-wed”-themed episode of The Price is Right, beloved game show of stay-at-home geriatrics everywhere.
The best part about this clip, aside from the seemingly now on-purpose faux-vintage ’60s kitsch the show has adopted since we watched it religiously on sick days in grade school, is that the poor engaged couples playing are so deluded about celebrity chef wedding cake prices that they all underbid the cake by at least half its retail value.
The couple who came closest to the $1,200 price tag bid a paltry $600, which was flattering by comparison to the other bidders. Sorry, Duff. They’re young and have much to learn in the ways of immaculate fondant value.
