Here we were, minding out own business, assuming that the characterization of Nigella Lawson and Charles Saatchi’s divorce as “swift and amicable” in the face of domestic violence was going to be the most flagrantly flippant thing we read today. And then this happened. Dancing With The Stars professional dancer Cheryl Burke came out in support of Paula Deen joining the cast next season, because, as Burke says, “I think coming on something light and fun would be something good for her.”
Oh, sure. Because what every public figure needs after having her tragically tone-deaf racial attitudes (at best) and ignorant bigotry (at worst) outed is “something light and fun!”
“I think you’d probably see a different side of her and I think she would be a great addition to the cast,” Burke went on to say.
Are you interested in seeing yet another side of Paula Deen? The twinkle-toed, catfish armed side, evidently?
