Thanksgiving Live is among Food Network’s more brazen attempts at social media savvy, and last Saturday, the two-hour live-cooking, -tweeting, -advisement, and -eating sesh kicked off, starring Alton Brown, Giada De Laurentiis, Ina Garten, and Bobby Flay, broadcasting live from the Food Network kitchens in Chelsea Market.
And of course, because it was live TV, Giada De Laurentiis hacking herself to ribbons made air-time. Apparently, the whole ordeal was so bloody that she began to feel faint and had to be escorted off set. But, in everything a teaching moment (we’re pretty sure Food Network knows how to say that in Latin), and so when she returned, she decided to give medic tips on how to deal with your cut finger at your Thanksgiving meal (sit in a cold room, elevate the injury, drink orange juice).
Check out the whole ordeal, from her panicky off-screen interruption of Alton with “…Guys? Guys?” to getting kicked off set to the resolution below, in three parts.
