Homaro Cantu recently shuttered his miracle berry-shilling Chicago restaurant iNG and, since it was oh-so-conveniently located next door to Grant Achatz and Nick Kokonas’ NEXT space, the pair are reportedly hovering over iNG’s remains for a possible lease-takeover.
Also adjacent to the former iNG space is Cantu’s flagship Michelin-starred modernist restaurant moto, but in the Monopoly game that is the 950th block of Fulton Street, Achataz and Kokonas could potentially have claim to Next, The Aviary, and the iNG space. So good luck, moto team, but a block takeover seems imminent.
And if you’re devastated over where to get your trippy taste bud-warping miracle berry fix, don’t worry. You’ll be able to find it at Cantu’s new coffeeshop concept, Berrista.
