Dear, sweet, lovable loudmouth John Tesar has announced on the heels of his Twitter rampage against Dallas Morning News critic Leslie Brenner that he’s inked a deal with a prominent reality show production company, which has worked with Bravo in the past.
According to CultureMap Dallas, the series is supposed to have a Gordon Ramsay Kitchen Nightmares feel, in which Tesar enters flailing restaurants and helps them do an overhaul “but with less screaming.” Evidently, he’d like to take more of a mentorship position. Choice quotes from Tesar in the report include:
“I need to do a few preliminary things like get with an entertainment attorney, but we’re going to start developing a concept,” he says.
“It would be me going to a restaurant and help fix it up, but I want it to be interesting and not just a guy who yells in a kitchen,” he says. “What we’re working on comes from a lot of things — including the way things have changed with the decreasing impact that critics have on restaurants.
“The era of the critic is over, and that FU was the icing on the cake.”
Hear that, Pete Wells? YOU’LL NEVER WORK IN THIS TOWN AGAIN ONCE JOHN TESAR IS DONE WITH IT.
