A tiny, essentially insignificant pillar in the vast Joël Robuchon empire will fall at the end of June. One of nine L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon branches — located in the Four Seasons Hotel in New York — will close come June 30th. After six years in the NYC restaurant scene, Joël says parting ways with the hotel is an amicable agreement, despite the fact that the resto earned its second Michelin star just last year.
“Chef Joël Robuchon is a true Master Chef and we’re proud to have hosted him for the past six years,” commented Four Season’s Regional Vice President and General Manager Christoph Schmidinger. “New York City is one of the greatest cities in the world and we look forward to introducing our guests to a new and exciting venue soon.”
Following the closing of New York’s L’Atelier, three new locations will open in 2013. The chain is set to expand in Beirut, Mumbai, and Bangkok.
