In what we hope to god is the final segment of The Today Show’s three-part Martha Stewart profile, she touched on her time spent in prison, her greatest critics, and her upcoming projects.
On prison: “It was terrible! I lost a fortune!”
On why she’s the subject of criticism: “I don’t understand it. I write books. I publish beautiful magazines. I’ve done television shows that are devoted to how-to and good living. I don’t know. I don’t know. Maybe because I’m confident. I think sometimes, ‘Maybe I’m too confident. Maybe I should have failed. Maybe I should have just gone away and dug a hole and jumped in.’ Who knows?”
On her next project: A how-to article on “making little dresses for girls out of old dish towels.”
We give up. You can check out the interview below.
