Momofuku Noodle Bar turns 10 this year. In restaurant years, that’s a big deal, but moreso for Momofuku, which launched David Chang into stardom and kickstarted the Make Everything With Fatty Pork And Ramen And Sriracha And Rock Music trend. (Oh, and they changed the face of American food forever. That’s a big deal, too.)
To celebrate, Noodle Bar is serving a limited, weeklong menu featuring some old recipes from the Momofuku Vault. (The details haven’t been announced yet — it’s a birthday surprise! — but expect some dishes from back in the days he was defiantly pro-foie gras.) In addition, Momofuku Milk Bar is serving a limited edition “lucky peaches ‘n’ cream cookie”, all between August 18th and 24th. A portion of the proceeds will go to Edible Schoolyard NYC, to teach kids where their pork buns come from, and how they can grow them themselves, on pork bun trees. (That’s how it works, right?)
Happy 10th birthday, Momofuku! Holy crap, 10 years is a long time.
