With the power of their combined culinary prowess, Andrew Carmellini, George Mendes, Seamus Mullen, and Marco Canora began a New York City-based relief organization called NYC Food Flood, with its first efforts turned towards Hurricane Sandy relief. The organization seeks to continue assisting hungry New Yorkers long after Hurricane Sandy recovery, but, for now, they’re hosting a relief benefit dinner at Canora’s Hearth Restaurant.
Joining him for their inaugural Sandy benefit dinner will be Sean Brock, George Mendes, Alex Stupak, and Siobhan DeCarlo. The chefs will create a five-course meal for the event on December 3rd, with all proceeds going to Hurricane Sandy relief. Tickets are going for $250 a head, with tax and gratuity included.
