Much like the ancient kings of Europe sent their unwanted daughters to wed the sons of other royal houses to join their kingdoms, so too is C. Dean Metropoulos & Co., the maker of Pabst Blue Ribbon, thinking about buying Hostess, the maker of Twinkies. Bloomberg reports that the private equity firm/king of hipster beers has expressed a desire to “resurrect these legendary brands and bring them back to the consumer,” as well as create the cornerstone of the greatest hipster company the world has ever seen. We’d call C. Dean Mertropoulos a modern-day hipster Alexander, but he’d probably say he was a hipster Alexander before it was cool.
