Paula Deen made her first non-apology-related TV appearance since her disastrous racism scandal on last night’s MasterChef, returning to the show to guest-judge a challenge designed by her. Fox execs reportedly considered editing her out of the episode, which taped before her deposition leaked, but since she was responsible for choosing the top two dishes of the challenge, thus locking part of the final four, they opted to air the episode in its entirety, anyway.
Of course, as cruel fate would have it, Paula’s return to television after a brutal deposition in which she admitted to having fantasies of a plantation-themed wedding with slave waiters just so happened to coincide with the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have a Dream Speech.” Good job, Fox.
