Behind The Scenes Of Chef Robert Irvine’s Wedding
Few brides would relinquish all control of their wedding to their bumbling husband-to-be, but wrestler Gail Kim did just that when she and Restaurant: Impossible host Chef Robert Irvine tied the knot earlier this month. Well, we guess when it’s your fiance’s job to make over over commercial restaurant spaces on a budget, he may have some unique expertise in the wedding-planning field.
Robert enlisted a few of his Food Network besties to help out — Morimoto was serving up sushi himself at the cocktail hour (and serenaded the newlyweds with a Japanese love song!); Guy Fieri catered the rehearsal dinner and stepped up as best man (really? Guy Fieri is your best dudebro in the whole world who you want standing next to you as you bid bachelorhood farewell?); Michael Chiarello whipped up hors d’oeuvres; and Elizabeth Falkner baked wedding cupcakes.
Gail, who wrestles for Impactwrestling on Spike TV, was pleased, to say the least, with her lavish Napa Valley ceremony, which kicked off with a surprise horse-drawn carriage tour of the Charles Krug Winery before the big reveal in front of her friends and family at the altar. “He wanted to give me the fairy tale wedding,” she told People Magazine. “I didn’t know the colors of my wedding or what my bouquet would look like! But I trusted his taste.”
After being proposed to with a chocolate diamond, we’d trust Robert implicitly, too. The couple later honeymooned in Greece. Guy Fieri, we assume, stayed behind.
