PHOTO: Ruth Reichl Busts Through the Blonde Ceiling, Graces the Cover of Cherry Bombe
Former New York Times restaurant critic Ruth Reichl has broken the mold yet again as Cherry Bombe’s first brunette cover girl.* Previous volumes of the food-meets-fashion, by-women-for-women glossy sport young, beautiful, blonde, cherry-lipped supermodel Karlie Kloss and young, beautiful, blonde, cherry-lipped BabyCakes NYC founder Erin McKenna on the cover.
Reichl’s cover photo is fresh, summery, includes the requisite cherry accent, and features her in an age-appropriate lip color. Way to smash barriers, homegirl.
The third issue of the biannual magazine is “Girl Crush”-themed, and you can pick it up on fancy newsstands starting this week.
*Editor’s note: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that Reichl was the only lady restaurant critic at the New York Times; awesome lady Mimi Sheraton was a restaurant critic at the NYT for eight years. We apologize for the mistake.
