Last summer, Pete Wells tucked a subtle critique into his otherwise glowing review of Carbone, writing of its all-male captain staff, “I’m not ready to play along with all of Carbone’s casting decisions: currently all the captains, typically the most highly tipped employees, are men.”
Today, he threw similar shade toward post-Hurricane Sandy reopened The River Cafe, burying in the service notes that it was “old guard and tuxedoed, though the scarcity of women on the floor evokes the wrong kind of nostalgia.”
Can Homie P get some lady cap’ns up in this bish, or what?
