Rachael Ray made her first ever appearance on Morning Joe today, not to talk food or cooking or EVOO or whatnot, but to bring attention to the plight of animals in shelters — and to talk about the plight of feeding “human kids” healthy food.
Initially on air to promote her own line of cat food, the proceeds of which will go to animal adoption agencies, Ray added that her animal food brand, Nutrish, was similar to her Yum-O! organization, which works with Michelle Obama and Let’s Move! to help children make healthy choices when it comes to what they eat. “We don’t have to rely on fundraisers and donations,” she pointed out. “There’s constantly funds coming in.
(Ray also happens to be a big fan of Morning Joe, and could talk at length about Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski’s cats.)
