For some reason, we didn’t think that Chopped host Ted Allen would ever have anything to do with the National Football League, let alone affiliate himself with footballs. But since Super Bowl XLVIII is going to be held at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium next year, Allen and a group of other chefs have joined forces with the NFL to feed the hungry at the 23rd annual Taste Of The NFL, which, we’ve just learned, is something that exists. But exist it does, and helping those less fortunate along with dozens of chefs from around the country, Ted Allen will. (Sorry, we just Yoda’d.)
There’s also a bonus cameo from Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, whose hipster borough will host the dining event during the week leading up to the Superbowl. Brooklyn AND the NFL? What is this? Why does charity prompt such confusing combinations?
