Arianna Huffington Offers Buses To Jon Stewart’s “Rally To Restore Sanity”

video

Last night Arianna Huffington appeared on The Daily Show and made a rather dramatic offer right off the bat, pledge to provide bus service to anyone interested in attending Jon Stewart‘s Rally To Restore Sanity from the Soho offices of Huffington Post. The bit was pretty clearly worked out in advance of the interview, but is still a rather shocking obligation pledged by Ms. Huffington. When Stewart expressed surprise, Arianna coolly offered “I’ll worry about logistics,” in a way that reminded the viewer of her overall competence.

HuffPost covered the announcement but added little details to the logistics:

Stewart has described the event as “Woodstock, but with the nudity and drugs replaced by respectful disagreement.” As of Tuesday, a Facebook page dedicated to the rally shows that over 170,000 people have committed to attend.

Details of the HuffPost Sanity Bus are still in the works, but you can sign up below to participate. As soon as we know more, we’ll alert you via email.

A Twitter feed has been set up, appropriately named “HuffPostBus”

Arianna should be first in line on a bus that “restores sanity”. She is punch drunk from the drubbing George Will hands her on an almost weekly basis.

Yup, that was the first thing that popped into my head-Wow, this is one competent woman! (LOL)

I know her ex-uh-husband inherited a fossil fuel fortune, but does anyone know whether Allliaaannnnaa still has an interest in the wasteful expenditure of energy?

Since she never stops running her mouth, I would say the answer is yes.

You rightists are so funny. Your fear of Ms. Huffington is palpable.

Her social climbing must be exhausting as well. I mean, who–as a fully mature adult–has a total ideological conversion? Don’t get me wrong, I think she’s her true self today, but back when I first became aware of her–back when lefties used to make fun of her (a book on Picasso? A joke)–she was the odright-wing platitudinizing, oddly imperious wife of an empty suit who tried to buy a California Senate seat.

That’s not fear you sense; it’s laughter. Do you think princess arianna had a formal arrangement with her gay ex-husband? I’ll pretend to be your wife to help you get elected to the senate, but it’s gonna cost ya, Mike.

Oh yes, we fear Arianna’s “Jungian archtypes” and “the paranoid style.” Very much so!

Yes, she is a strong, intelligent woman. I know many other women who find intimidating, as well.

Wouldn’t Zsa Zsa be more comfortable at the Union/La Raza /Communist Rally ? They’re her peeps .

Also, the bullshit that Mike Huffington is “bisexual” was nothing more than a clause in their agreement for the purposes of plausible deniability–i.e., I’m not a complete idiot, liar, gold-digging whore.

Now, now Cecelia, perhaps Ariana talks funny and she may lack the acumen of, say, the Drop Out Governor of Alaska, but she provides us a refreshing, unique perspective, and her website is far fairer and more balanced than anything we see on Dr. Wiener’s website.

Arianna Huffington’s major accomplishment to date -

She garnered a whopping 0.55% of the vote in the 2003 California gubernatorial election, finishing slightly ahead of Larry Flynt and Gary Coleman.

I have to admit much of the fun of the Drop Out Governor is but a memory. As her favorables have fallen and her appearances have taken on a clumsy air, I am even beginning to feel a bit sorry for her and for myself. An era is passing. A very short era. Sort of like a Central American presidential administration.

    Faint praise fer sure, Patsy.

  • CosmosDan

She’s completely correct that citizens have to stay engaged om a regular basis rather than just attend a rally , vote, and forget it until the next rally. I hope people also noticed Jon’s pointing out that division is not what the rally is about. We can disagree while remembering we are all Americans and need to work together.

What’s she doing on Stewart’s show? I thought she was working the second shift at The Bendix Diner?

and also her point about reforming how campaigns are paid for. With all the fuss over socialism and the economy we haven’t addressed as a nation the huge money problem that will keep DC screwed up.

  • writer

Speaking of appearances, Robert, how did you manage to get that wild-eyed, Charles Manson look in your video? I’m guessing either crystal meth, or some form of psychosis.

    oooohhhhh Jeopardy.

    Ummmmmm

What is the distance between a teabaggers ears.

  • writer

You didn’t specify which tea bagger. Can I use my lifeline?

  • Arkansas Steve

I’ve seen sad things on television, seen funny things, tragedies, etc.

But the most PATHETIC thing I ever saw on a television set happened on the day several people filed to run for governor of California to replace Gray Davis:

Arnold Schwarzenegger was being interviewed on the capitol steps when suddenly Arianna Huffington literally “threw” herself in front of the camera. She did everything but wrap her arms around Arnold’s leg.

TO THIS DAY, I still remember thinking: NOBODY IS THAT PATHETIC!!

You are not really a “rightie”.
You just play one on message boards.

    That was waaay too funny.

I don’t really know the answer to this, but isn’t Huffington Post a gossip website like a TMZ?

  • LibertySister

    All these rally’s.
Do you really think the people that read huffington post or go to Johns rally will vote? maybe a small percentage of them… but most just want to hangout and party!
But I guarantee you every single person that follows Beck or is tired of the spending in Washington will be at the polls…. they are mad and they will show there anger this Nov…

You’re going to be pretty wrong about this. The chatter online shows a lot of the voting public of all ages will go because they agree that we need to restore sanity to political discourse.
I can vote early here and will be voting before I attend.

I think a more accurate description is that it’s a liberal propaganda tool for the -0bama regime….but that’s just my take.
