As to consumers, she simply insults them by assuming they are so ignorant as to embrace her broad brush strokes and overlook her disregard for inconvenient truths. Hmm, maybe it applies to this article as well given Levinson focused on several GROSS factual errors that Stanley committed in her critique, while this article concludes that he's simply pissed off that she didn't like his work and he's picking on her because she's an easy target given she's committed even grosser errors in the past. If the bar really is that low in journalism these days, than perhaps Levinson should of instead focused on praising her for at least getting the title correct. As he points out, the 2008 Election was just back drop to their treatise on the mixture of celebrity and politics. If she not only gets facts wrong, but actual meaning behind films and TV, that is even more damning and should be flagged too.
