Best Newsweek Ever: The Future Of Magazines Looks Like Basic Cable?
The smart editorial minds behind Newsweek seem to have a keen understanding of both the current zeitgeist and the future of magazines. This is perhaps best evidenced by the following video recap of Lost, as told through the eyes of staffers who have never seen the show. Excitement and confusion, all rolled into one — brillz content, indeed. Oh, and thank you Newsweek, for finally showing us what the future of magazines look like — basic cable television!
While reasonable people can disagree about the future of magazines – and how the iPad may or may not affect it – there is little doubt that the opportunity for rich media (audio and video) will greatly impact the editorial offering of many magazines. Why haven’t more people realized this and/or talked about it? Terrific question best saved for another post.
In the meantime, enjoy the following video that perfectly captures both the excitement and confusion surrounding the final season premiere of Lost.
