The Circle D was established by designers in the early 70′s to be used as “designright,” similar to the Circle C in “copyright.” It was placed in the public domain and is thus not available for anyone to use as a registered logo.
Why would the designer of the new Democrat logo not know design history and the legal implications of intellectual property law and prior art, not to mention distinctive branding? Maybe the party leaders have no access to legal minds, i.e., good lawyers? Or maybe, they just overlord over whoever they want.

Mahr is an entertainer, the same sense that Hanns Johst was an entertainer. He is a polemicist whose “craft” is employed only to emphasize a sense of political solidarity with his co-believers. His humor is universally cruel and destructive, and highly political – used to ridicule his political enemies, humiliate those with whom he disagrees..

I think his treatment of Christine O’Connell demonstrates the political filter through which he views the world. People like Mahr will betray the usual sense of personal obligation to a “higher” purpose of advancing their fringe-left agenda . She went on his show, with the tacit understanding that it was all friendly, etc. – yet later Maher is willing to betray that basic understnding, and use it to attempt to destroy her politically. People of his ilk will betray any friendship in advancement of their political agenda. To present him as humorist is, at best, disingenuous. His only problem with the Democratic Party is that they have disappointed him in not being far enough Left. (And who, to the left of Pol Pot, could meet his standards of ideological purity.)

As with all on the fringe Left, no one should ever make the mistake of believing Mahr has any “friends” – people being valuable to him only in advancing the cause of state-socialism.
