Remembering A Decade Of Bill O’Reilly Hip-Hop Feuds

7. O’Reilly vs. Snoop Dogg

In response to O’Reilly’s attacks about his arrest record, Snoop Dogg fired back — on Dutch TV. Snoop Dogg appeared on Dutch talk show Jensen! and made its host, Robert Jensen, an international star overnight, thanks in part to O’Reilly’s backlash against the show the next day (when he offered a Factor invitation to Snoop; hasn’t happened yet).

But Snoop’s profane, anti-O’Reilly rant is what really made the news (warning: when we say profane, we mean profane):

“Fuck Bill O’Reilly… that bitchass motherfucker. He doesn’t want to debate me. I’m too intellectual. I’m the equivalent of an Obama. My intellect is very deep. I have linguistics and dialects that he probably couldn’t comprehend. My mental gymnastics would just overcapacitate his train of thought. I wouldn’t even be in the same vocabulary with him. It would hurt him for him to have me on television and me to have more conversation and more intellect than him. And him being some old, blue-eyed, whatever-the-fuck color hair he got, bald spot-havin’, dick-suckin’ son of a bitch…”

Most recently, O’Reilly has said that he hopes Obama will “deport” Snoop Dogg.

o’reilly has such an ego… its hilarious. no wonder the guy is popular. he gets himself involved in tons of pointless feuds that simply get him ratings. he thinks he is the main person in the media to advocate against everything that he thinks is bad when there are people advocating again him for his actions and words. oddly, he cant see the hate he spews, and only everybody else’s.

Remember folks… O’Reilly pointing out violent lyrics or demean women… it’s a bad thing. Of course, when Al Gore’s wife did a similar thing in the late 80s… it was a good thing. And when women’s groups make the same kind of comments… it’s a good thing. And when anti-violence groups, or anti-gun groups, or anti-war groups, protest or complain about politicians, media members, or music… it’s a good thing.

What’s the difference? Why, O’Reilly of course. If he does it… it’s bad. If anyone else does it… it’s good!

It’s hypocritical… and O’Reilly surely isn’t wrong… but, to hate O’Reilly isn’t a “fact” type of thing, it’s an “emotional” type of thing. Gotta hate him and disagree, even if it’s for the sake of being argumentative. Can’t give an inch. O’Reilly is always wrong… even if it makes me a hypocrite.

The reason Bill O’Reilly is wrong is because his “observations” of Hip Hop are often malicious. He obviously has an obsession with the Hip-Hop from the music,to the culture, and the people who represent it. If he’s really disgusted with the content that some rap music focuses on, then he should be calling attention to the record labels who continue to put money behind these artist. The music is no worse than your average pg-13 movie or television these days. Why isn’t he going after the movie studios the same way?

If he and anyone else is worried about kids being influenced by these things then parents need to stop letting them listen to and watch these things.

Well, I think O’Reilly has taken the record companies and the parents to task… but some of the responsibility still does lay with the person saying it. Blame the person who person handing out the microphone… but also blame the person speaking into it.
