Daily Kos Endorses Sarah Palin, Rages Against the Use of ‘Socialism’

“Hyper-partisan, painfully ignorant, pathologically dishonest, chronically unethical, intellectually unconscious, and jaw-droppingly stupid.” Yes, once in a while these words apply uncannily to the radical liberals over at Daily Kos, but today, they’re proof of why the blog commands so much influence in the political sphere despite their occasional flubs.

Blogger “Angry Mouse” has given Palin what reads as one of the most ringing, brutally honest endorsements for her 2012 presidential campaign to come out so far. And yes, that first sentence is the way (s)he begins the endorsement. It only gets better from there:

If this is the war the party of stupid wants, let them have it. Let us see what their rightwing insanity has sown. Let us watch Sarah debate President Obama, crib notes and all. Because even though the entire Republican Congress was outmatched in a battle of wits only a few weeks ago, Sarah, being Sarah, will strut into any debate thinking she has the upper hand. And America needs to watch that, the arrogance of someone so hopelessly out of her league that she doesn’t even realize she’s out of her league, daring to take on President Obama, daring to claim that she could do his job better as she spouts meaningless platitudes about budget tax cuts and energy and lifting American spirit. It doesn’t matter that she knows nothing. It doesn’t matter that she’s an embarrassment to herself every time she speaks. We need to have our options so obviously spelled out for us that there can be no mistake. We need to have that fight -– the fight of thoughtfulness and reason versus also too also.

It’s biting, it’s vicious, it’s backhanded, and, most of all, it’s fair. “Mouse” goes issue-by-issue, with links and quotes, before concluding that it is necessary for Americans to see Palin compete with Obama on every level required of a presidential candidate. Incendiary rhetoric aside, the partisan divide the country is facing might require that competition to occur. And hearing someone on Kos actually welcome spirited debate and competition is precisely what its detractors are constantly demanding of it. There is no wish to keep Palin hushed, no pleading to close the case on the Tea Parties. Rather, they are so certain that their politicial beliefs are superior that they want to see them debated publicly. And that’s a good thing.

But while the Daily Kos’ endorsement of Palin is as good as good behavior is going to get on the site, the post immediately following it sinks them right back down to the ridiculous. Predictably, the Fox News poll showing that most (81% at last login) Fox News site visitors considered the Tea Party movement to be rooted in a “fruitless mix of racism, conspiracy theories” caught their attention. Also predictably, they completely missed the point, peeved by the fact that the world “socialism” appears in a poll on the Tea Party movement. How can a piece on the Tea Partiers not have the world “socialism” in it somewhere? It is petty to slam Fox News for this when they are publicly showing that most Americans, according to their study, consider a movement they are accused of supporting to be ridiculous. And it’s missing the big picture: even Fox News fans– 81% of them!– have no respect for the Tea Parties. Of course, pointing that out would mean acknowledging that the radical minority that represents the Tea Partiers is not commonly accepted by the mainstream, and that level of maturity is apparently too much to ask from the Kos crew, commendable as their piece on Palin may be.

    I love her so!

First, for those who view Ms. Palin sympathetically, remember that the left also savaged Ronald Reagan for being stupid, a racist, and unfit to be President. All he did was blunder his way into two terms in the White House.

Second, for any presidential candidate in 2012, Democrat or Republican, President Obama or Sarah Palin, polls in Feb 2010 mean nothing. Let me know what their poll standings are in Feb 2012.

Below are excerpts from the Orlando Sentinel, Feb 14:
” Palin-mania easily surpassed Danica-mania at Daytona International Speedway on Sunday…When she arrived for the drivers meeting, Palin was immediately mobbed…After…the meeting, Palin could not get out the door. Fans mobbed her, asking for pictures and autographs. Her 12-person entourage, comprised of track security, a policeman, friends and spokespeople, tried to get her to the door and to her next appearance….Even when she was able to get out the door, she stopped every few feet to take pictures.
As she got moving again, Palin stopped when she saw a boy in a wheelchair to say hello and sign an autograph.”

BTW, another middle-class conservative woman who faced elitist hatred and snobbery was Margaret Thatcher. Nuff said!

I fully endorse Angry Mouses’ article. Let the American people decide if it was mistake not to let a soulless crazy woman to be an angry 72 year-old heartbeat from the nuclear button.

Some decisions look better and better with the passage of time.

Whether she ever holds public office again or not, Palin has performed a public service. She makes the far left’s blood pressure soar dangerously high. And we all know what that results in.

  • blueblogger

Margaret Thatcher=Sarah Palin Get a grip here. I personally hope she is the candidate in 2012. If that happens we will see just what the Republican Party is made of. Should be fun.

(Sorry, I was getting my daily brainwashing watching Fox News. But I’m back now, and I feel much better, thank you)

HOW DARE GOV PALIN TAKE ON PRESIDENT OBAMA! FOR HE IS THE ONE TRUE GOD, AND THOU SHALT PUT NO OTHER GODS BEFORE HIM!

“The Daily Kos… they’re proof of why the blog commands so much influence in the political sphere….”

Are you kidding? I mean, I’m very glad you feel that way, because it basically confirms my suspicion that the writers at the Huffington Post, Mediaite, and the Daily Kos share a bubble together and have no understanding of the real world. Which means your influence only extends to radical members of the Democratic Party who feel exactly like you do. But really, are you kidding??

This isn’t news at all. This is just your standard Daily Kos lunatic frothing at the mouth. The real news, and for Democrats the ONLY news today, was Sen Evan Bayh withdrawing from the Indiana Senate race. That seat, previously safe for Democrats, will now go to the Republicans. And the fact that Sen Bayh withdrew with only 24 hours to go to the filing deadline for a Democratic candidate to replace him, and intentionally did not tell Senate Majority Leader Reid, indicates his contempt for the radicals who run the Democratic Party.

Furthermore, if the unemployment rate, over 9% now, continues to be high (anything close to 8% in November should suffice), the Democrats may very well lose control of the Senate. The House is already up for grabs. If either happens, it’s problematic for Democrats. If both happen, President Obama goes from being a God to a lame duck faster then you can say “Jimmy Carter”.

And all you can think of is how good it feels to see some lunatics’ rant on your web site. Wow! What you should be focused on is why a fiscal moderate like Sen Bayh (not a social moderate, mind you), with a sure victory in November, instead decided that the Democratic Party was too radical for him. Because unfortunately for you, most Americans don’t read the Daily Kos, and if they did, they would feel exactly like I do.

“Those whom the Gods wish to destroy, they first make mad.” 2009 began with a Democratic President, Senate and House, with overwhelming majorities in the latter two.

    How will 2011 begin?

  • gk33435

Geez, who’s frothing at the mouth here, Azarkhan? Whatever happened to BOTH sides sifting through the rhetoric and hyperbole and just looking at the facts of the issues? Oh, I’m sorry, both sides have their own set of facts; never mind, carry on…

  • Azarkhan

    Hi gk,

Sorry if I gave the impression I was “frothing”. I was actually aiming for “scathing”. I’m actually very, very happy that the Democrats stand to lose big in November. And, as I said in a previous post, I’m also happy when Ms. Palin is attacked, whether by the loon at the Daily Kos or the philanderer David Letterman. Their hateful attacks seem to make her stronger.

I just happen to think Sen Evan Bayh dropping out is huge. But personally, I hope the Democrats ignore the possible ramifications and continue as they have been.

  • SWWT

I’m still not sure why the Left makes such a big fuss about Sarah Palin…

  • the visionary

    1. this is news?

    2. i like how daily kos cheerleader frances uses a fox news poll as evidence that another writer for the site Robert Quigley already showed to be flawed, pointing out:

I’m pretty sure this is a Reddit thing.
    http://www.reddit.com/r/politics/comments/b0ek4/fox_news_poll_what_do_you_think_tea_party/

nothing a few seconds of research would catch. but facts can be so inconvenient…

  • Azarkhan

Visionary-thanks for the tip on Reddit-I had never heard of them.

  • The Real Royal King

As a long-time Raygun critic, Azarkhan, I have to say I never viewed him as stupid, a racist or unfit to be president. I viewed him as woefully incurious, a man who knew everything he’d ever know for the balance of his life by mid-life. I viewed him as opportunistic, a man who was willing to exploit the racism of others to further his own ambitions (the so-called Southern Strategy). I viewed him as more than a bit lazy and self-absorbed, a president under whose watch American troops were slaughtered in their own barracks, a man troubled by that but unwilling to attend the fallen troop’s return, a man who was overwhelmed by the actions of some in his Administration, particularly in Iran-Contra, but unable to deal head-on with the problems. I view him as a man able to command devotion from some, who feverishly sought to build his legacy, renaming airports, trying to get up on coinage, before the shaky foundations of that legacy finally gave way, a man for whom the judgment of history seems to be much harsher than we ever imagined it would be. In short, I view Raygun far more favorably that the heavily-hairsprayed piker, the Drop Out Governor of Alaska. In fact, the only common links I can find is a sort of Republicanism and a propensity to be really poor parents.

  • writer

Royal ignores the fact that Reagan won twice. By landslides. The liberal candidates that he loved barely won their own states. Yet it never dawns on Royal that perhaps his far left viewpoint is the one out of the mainstream.

  • Azarkhan

“Raygun”. Wow, who coined that, Country Joe? I suggest you look in the mirror if you want to see someone
    “who knew everything he’d ever know…by mid-life.”

And btw, since you obviously don’t have a thesaurus, other words for “view” include: opinion, belief, judgement, conviction.

  • Jim R

Royal didn’t ignore Reagan announcing his run for President in Philidelphia, MS. Now why would a former governor of California, born and raised in Illinois, be anouncing a run for President a few miles where 3 civil rights workers were buried in a quarry by the KKK?

Hmm, I can’t figure it out, it’s a real mystery.

  • Azarkhan

“Southern Strategy” was developed by Richard Nixon, not Ronald Reagan. Prior to Nixon’s campaign in 1968, the south was known as the “Solid South” Why? Because they always voted Democratic. It seems that for some reason Southerners hated Republicans. Might have had something to do with Lincoln, the Civil War, and the abolition of slavery.
