Did Shep Smith Just Advocate The Changing Of Our Drug Laws?

Whenever the debate over Fox News’ opinion versus news shows comes up, Shepard Smith is universally accepted as the paragon of capital-J Journalism at the cable news network. And we readily accept that — we are big fans of Smith’s homespun common sense and candid news delivery. So it was somewhat surprising to hear the Fox Newser make what seemed to be a potentially controversial remark about current drug laws when reporting a story about Mexican drug wars. Maybe Shep should have his own opinion show. I know I’d watch.

Go Shepard, though watch that line of opinion and journalism

Though there’s no mistaking what Shep is saying, I thought that he had stated a similar position in the past, or at least that’s how I’ve interpreted something he said at one time or another.

I have to say that I always find it funny that when libs complain about Fox’s bias, they never mention Shep. Could it be because he is a lib and that’s just fine with them? Something to ponder.

ps, I’m not referring to you Colby.

@MichelleF The main thing about Shepard is that he plainly does his job, anchor the news. He doesn’t say anything pro-or-con Liberals or Conservatives generally, so many of us like him.

Shep is no liberal, but he does present a more balanced view, usually. But he would have to go a long way with that to make up for the other commentators, for sure.

  • MichelleF

I wouldn’t call him a total lib, but you get the drift.

  • valkyrie101

Yea, he is personally more liberal, though, he still has to tow the Fox party line most of the time.

Why do people insist on saying “libs” instead of “liberals”? It sounds kind of valley girl.
Anyway.. yes, Shep has made these kinds of comments before.
