Fox News Anchor Bret Baier Will Give You A Prize If You’re His 100,000th Twitter Follower
Fox News anchor Bret Baier, as of Tuesday morning, had 99,220 Twitter followers, tantalizingly close to the magical 100,000 number. Instead of just rounding up and telling people he meets that he has 100,000 followers, Baier is taking the honest route, and giving fans a creative incentive to get signed up for his feed:
For those of you who are planning on waiting, like vultures, for Baier’s Twitter feed to hit 99,999 followers before deciding to “follow” him, we share the cautionary tale presented by the classic series Dennis The Menace; specifically, the episode entitled, “The Fifty-Thousandth Customer,” in which Mr. Wilson waits outside of Mr. Finch’s store, tracking customers, in order to win a five-minute shopping spree (which will be awarded to the 50,000th customer to walk through the door). Dennis, trying to be helpful (SPOILER ALERT), walks in to the store ahead of Mr. Wilson, thinking he is the 49,999th customer, but he’s actually the 50,000th, and wins the prize.
Of course, Baier’s offering of a vague Fox News prize for the referrer, as well as the 100,000th follower, could just be a clever homage to the black-and-white TV classic.
Our interest is also piqued by what this “prize package” could be. A lock of Sean Hannity‘s hair? A list of everything in Steve Doocy‘s trash? Eric Bolling‘s unused ties? Feel free to take your best guess below in the comment section.
