I just watched this and immediately after came over here to see if you’d written about it yet…the show has been in a tiny bit of rut recently, but that was, without a doubt, the funniest and most sublime piece of satire TDS has done about Fox (and I can’t recall anything on any topic that equals it). As it started, I was thinking ‘is he really going there?’, then sat back and basked in the glorious ray of sanity and humor.
Well done, sir. Well done.

I adore Glenn Beck and his sense of humor. He’s zany, brilliant, a little bit psychic and is able to grab the attention of a nation, especially the dipwads in the White House. He is the only TV personality who is exposing this corrupt administration and the outrageous policies they are trying to shove down the throats of the American people, whether they like it or not. Keep up the good work, Glenn. We are watching, all over America.

For the folks who are talking about Stewart’s “real” last name… let me inject my opinion (please please, hold your applause to the end).

As someone of the Jewish persuasion, as I am, I do have a problem with celebrities changing their names to “less ethnic sounding” names. In the early to mid-1900s it made sense, there was enough anti-Semitism out there to create problems for an openly Jewish actor or actress. However, those times have passed.

“Stewart” changing his name is somewhat insulting to me, and while he doesn’t hide his Judaism (certainly part of his standup routine), it does suggest that there is a certain degree of self-loathing and shame he feels towards his ancestry. Either that, or he thinks the rest of America and the world “can’t handle it.” That too, is insulting… it ignores reality, while allowing a few knuckleheads to essentially pressure Jews into hiding their religion.

I’ve always believed this… and Stewart is just the most current example. The one that really broke the camel’s back for me, was the pioneer of free speech and free thought… Robert Zimmerman. And if that name doesn’t sound familiar, Google it… you know him.

I agree the Van Jones mentions are getting pretty old. We get it, you broke the story. Ted, should we be quick to forget, “The officers acted stupidly.” Or being in the same church as a racist for twenty years. He has obviously done more to prove that he is not racist than racist, obviously. No argument there Ted. Then saying his grandmother was a typical “white woman”. No no your right.

So John Stewart is a Jew. Hell, that inhances a resume’ as a comic. Beck is right some things. Completely bat-sh*t on others. What bothers me is his daily mention of Van Jones. Van Jones, Van Jones, Van Jones. It looks like Beck will buying lunch on that name for years to come.

The funny part about Beck is that he does have facts for everything that he accuses people of. Yes, sometimes his views of the future are a little out there but when it comes to accusations of people he is dead on. Name for me one accusation that has not been true?

Seems to me that you are way more upset than Beck is at this. It is just humor. Look it up in a dictionary. And Stewart is a comedian. Of course his life revolves around satire. By the way, you obviously don’t watch the show or you might have seen Stewart go after Obama and the other networks just as mercilessly. But, it is a comedy show, remember?

I have to give Beck credit for a sense of humor and not taking himself as seriously as say, Chuck Varrick.

You know how pitiful it is when SNL has to use Beck in one of its skits…sad. As for Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz, his real name, he can’t come up with anything original on his own. His career revolves around satire of those he disagrees with. If Leibowitz had an original thought he might be funny. The old adage that jealousy motivates the mouth is so true in this case. Beck is probably about the closet thing you’ll ever get to a populist type of person. Since when is small government and low taxes such an Anti-American ideal? And Playboy? Nobody buys that airbrushed magazine or what anyone writes in it anymore…it would be better if their writers just started a blog…perhaps someone would read it then. Keep doing what you’re doing Glenn because you’re obviously driving the zombies crazy.
