Amazing. We all know that in this day of digital communication, anything from an innocent thought to a deadly threat is instantly on the 'net from a real or imagined source.Once it's out there, it's gone and there's no pulling it back. You mention that ESPN has a Twitter policy. Wow, I'm really surprised to hear there aren't more media organizations that have implemented a policy to protect themselves and the public. Email sounds antiquated now, but I recall the problems that surfaced when it initially became a popular (and continues to be) communication tool. I think everyone has an email policy in place now.
Considering the amount of inaccurate info that ends up on the digital landscape, I'm surprised we haven't had more of these jackass slipups.
