Jon Stewart Tells DNC Chairman Tim Kaine “You’re In Trouble Dude”

video

With the midterm elections looming and the Democrats looking to take more losses than many predicted just a few months ago, DNC chairman Tim Kaine bravely joined Jon Stewart on The Daily Show last night. Stewart has been a consistently vocal critic of the Democratic Party’s political efforts and was not reluctant in sharing his criticism to the former Governor of Virginia and current party chair. The segment opens with Stewart plainly stating “you’re in trouble dude,” and gets more entertaining from there.

The answer to what Obamacare is doing for Americans:

Health insurers say they plan to raise premiums for some Americans as a direct result of the health overhaul in coming weeks, complicating Democrats’ efforts to trumpet their signature achievement before the midterm elections.

Aetna Inc., some BlueCross BlueShield plans and other smaller carriers have asked for premium increases of between 1% and 9% to pay for extra benefits required under the law, according to filings with state regulators.

These and other insurers say Congress’s landmark refashioning of U.S. health coverage, which passed in March after a brutal fight, is causing them to pass on more costs to consumers than Democrats predicted.

Can you tell me why you have a good reason to believe this is true?
It may be, but for average Americans, what good reason do we have to believe any rate hikes are due to tye new health care regulations?

There’s that liberal partisan hack Stewart again unfairly going after conservatives,………..oh wait.

CosmosDan – The increase in healthcare premiums is actually quite simple to explain. The Healthcare Reform bill expands coverage to all, including those with pre-existing conditions. Those with pre-existing conditions raise the total costs to the insurance companies, and that in turn causes the cost of each insured person’s coverage to increase.

Also, it takes additional resources to digest and comply with that 2,500 page HCR bill.

There were two kinds of people without healthcare coverage at the time HCR was signed into law – those who couldn’t get it (pre-existing conditions and other reasons) and those who choose not to have it (too expensive, didn’t think they needed it, etc.). The HCR bill compels both groups to buy coverage over the next few years, and while those healthy folks who will be over-paying will help offset the pre-existing folks expenses, they wll never fully cover the increase.

Aetna, one of the nation’s largest health insurers, said the extra benefits forced it to seek rate increases for new individual plans of 5.4% to 7.4% in California and 5.5% to 6.8% in Nevada after Sept. 23. Similar steps are planned across the country, according to Aetna.

Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon said the cost of providing additional benefits under the health law will account on average for 3.4 percentage points of a 17.1% premium rise for a small-employer health plan. It asked regulators last month to approve the increase.

In Wisconsin and North Carolina, Celtic Insurance Co. says half of the 18% increase it is seeking comes from complying with health-law mandates.

Just like a drug addict or alcoholic, these people are completely delusional. They can’t’ even fathom the idea that their “own” friends would actually reject them as they walk by looking at the pathetic piece of debris face down in the gutter…

OK, are my eyes playing tricks on me, or does Tim Kaine flip America the bird at the 2:16 mark, while talking about how the Democrats got the health care bill done?

Economics 101. More services cost more money which someone needs to provide. Insurance companies get their money from premiums, so that’s where the cost of those extra services shows up.

“People are confused, don’t know what has been done, don’t understand healthcare reform, bla bla bla…”

Wrong! People are not confused, people understand that Obama care will raise their premiums and that it is quite possibly the last nail in US’ coffin. The common American is obviously a lot smarter on political issues than the political class since most American’s understood that Obamacare would raise premiums. The political class did not.

America, how can you be a nation of conservatives run by a small group of progressive liberals?!

  • hanoisteve

Wow Tim Kaine and his fucking key chain, no wonder the Tea baggers are on the rise, at least they have passion. if not any new ideas?

  • AntiHyperbole

Shouldn’t Stewart have said “We’re in trouble”?

Are we talking about the same insurance companies who were unfairly raising premiums BEFORE the passing of the Health Care Reform Bill. Seems to me that the government gave them a reasonable excuse to raise these premiums. I’m willing to bet the plan to raise premiums has always been there. Again, this is a dick move by insurance companies not a dick move by the government.

Bloomberg is an idiot! If he runs again, I hope the people of New York vote him out! What a slim bucket he is! He thinks that Americans across this country doesn’t care if the mosque is built next to the sacred site where Islamic terrorists destroyed the World Trade Center and claimed the lives of thousands of innocent Americans. Is he nuts!
How can he compare a mosque being built next to ground zero to a fast food place that was probably already there? Did Ronald McDonald or Wendy’s destroy the twin towers! Bloomberg you are a disgrace to the American people’s intelligence.

  • MissManners

Tim’s only been to 42 states? When’s he gonna visit the other 15? LOL LOL LOL

My word. Is it possible for a human being to be this stupid? Or disingenuous? November, dude.

  • ganymede

People don’t realize what a great satirist Stewart is, and that goes for Colbert as well. We’re all in trouble and much of this responsibility lies with the Know/No Nothing Republicans and many backward Democrats. It’s been many years coming and it’s because the supine American public sold out their great historical legacy of freedom and democracy for a mess of pottage. The game is up and maybe with God’s blessings we’ll get out of this. It may be difficult for you rightwingers to get your mind around the fact that Obama is our best hope for the obvious reason that there is no alternative. Put the Republicans back in power and and it doesn’t take an Einstein to see that things will get much worse. On every main issue the Republicans are wrong. Don’t raise taxes on the super rich; let the insurance industry continue to run health care into the ground; let every tense foreign policy issue turn into a shooting war; scapegoat and marginalize Muslims, Mexicans and other minorities; let dumbasses and evil people like Cheney, Palin, Limbaugh and the neo-cons dictate policy; deregulate everything; stack the Supreme Court with fools and idiots. Please, this is the time to get real and, fortunately, it looks like Obama has rediscovered his mojo.

I believe that;s what they said. I’m wondering why we should automatically believe it’s true.

So you two really don’t understand how additional requirements and costs regarding coverage will lead to higher rates? Well, I’ve always thought leftists are stupid, and you two just confirmed it.

  • FoxSpells666

Jon Stewart is less of a satirist and more of a perpetual adolescent. When is somebody going to tell him to just grow up?

He’ll stop when he stops making a ton of money being funny. It’s called a career.

To give health care to 10% or the population of this country, Obamacare will screw the other 90% of the population.

  • Sunnyr

The DNC had better set up Triage Centers across the country for delusional DemocRATS like the idiot on Jon Stewart. They are in for a SLAUGHTER on November 2. Maybe Barry will jump off the Truman Balcony. Just wishin’.

  • shootfromthehip

You wish our President kills himself?

    Great.

Thanks for the intelligent contribution. SunnyR.

I think you’d be surprised just how many Americans are repulsed by tea bag party people like you who show zero respect.

It makes those in the middle not want to voe “R” ever again, so thanks for that.
