… say … maybe there is a difference. Just perhaps. Maybe a slight one. Possibly. Geez, people. At least when you’re calling for moral equivalence, you might want to get somewhere in the ball park.

WHERE ARE CALLS FOR HER, TO APOLOGIZE, FOR HER CORRUPTION ?

Apparently Jason Linkins was so outraged by that picture of Ms. Landrieu, he posted it twice on the same page. Now THAT’s outrage!
I get outraged just thinking about it. I am so outraged I just might put it in an email and send it out.
I’m outraged I tell ya!!

Did I mention the outraged part?

Landrieu had to be PAID for her vote, otherwise she wouldn’t have agree to support bringing the bill to the floor. So there are a few important points to remember:

1) Paying Landrieu now, means Reid and the rest will have a hard time paying for her later. In other words, if this is what it takes to get Landrieu to support bringing the bill to discussion, what will it take to get her to vote in favor of it? Unless China is willing to give another loan, I doubt we’ve got it.

2) Is this going to be the future of all new legislation? If someone wants something passed, Congress-people need to get a kickback first. How many deals will be made in the future… how many people will demand extra money, before they vote on something? Will a Senator or President be willing to be blackmailed, simply to avoid looking foolish and having their bill fail on the floor? Will Congress-people play “chicken,” threatening a “No” vote, until they get their money first?

The bottom line is that Landrieu exposed a problem in our government… Congressmen and women willing to overlook the will of their constituents, for the promise of more money for their state. Sure, they money will go back to those people, but only after legislation that they may not support is passed. This is some pretty dangerous stuff. We send these people to Washington to represent us… not to make deals for the sole purpose of getting re-elected.

Oh, and one more thing… for those who think that Landrieu was just trying to “help sick and poor people,” or whatever… tell me why it took her XYZ thousands of dollars to do that. Landrieu wasn’t trying to help anyone but herself.

(As for the comments made by whomever… their language -while perhaps dictionarily applicable- is unfortunate. Not appropriate, and needlessly hurtful. Just because Olbermann continually acts like a spoiled immature liar, doesn’t give you the permission to use language he would… if he couldn’t think of anything more mean-spirited to say instead. IOW, just because KO is a jerk… doesn’t mean you can be half a jerk.)

Hey Jim, Even if her constituents in Louisiana by a huge majority wanted her to vote NO. So I guess you are part of the culture that the government knows best and it doesn’t matter what you want. As for Smokeybehr’s comment about the Republican from Louisiana that voted for it in the House, he(Cao) is trying to “buy” the votes of his constituents by voting Yes. He represents a district in N.O. that is a majority porch sitting welfare recipients who were too stupid to get out and vote in the general election because they thought their boy, old Dollar Bill Jefferson had won re-election when he won the democrat primary. Cao is history come 2010 as he already has a bunch of black politicians announce they are running against him. I wish Landrieu was up in 2010 too, but she won(barely) last year so sadly, has 5 more years to go. I hope the rest of the people of Louisiana remember this sell-out.

I don’t think anyone is saying that female politicians cannot be criticized. I also don’t think that anyone would disagree that the description of Sen. Landrieu is correct either. I didn’t like it when Rep. Grayson said the exact same thing against the right, as I don’t like it when the right says it against the left.

The argument lies in the over-the-top hatred spewed by KO upon the Bachman, Blackburn, and Palin. Then he has the audacity to criticize those that say the same types of smears in which he says on a daily basis. Remember, he was the host that applauded Janeane Garofalo who smeared an entire group of people by saying they were “racist, teabagging rednecks”.

Yet, whenever the left or KO states any of this garbage, they are given a free pass. I did a search on Mediaite for “Janeane Garofalo” and when that came up with 0 related posts I searched for “Garofalo” with the same result. When searching for articles on “Alan Grayson” I only found the defensive articles from Mediaite about Rep. Grayson.

These are just a few examples of the “Free Pass” that Mediaite and other left-leaning media give to those on the left. It also displays the hypocrisy of Mediaite and KO (among others) when paralleling situations are treated in two completely different fashions.

I hardly think it’s comparable to vulgarly smear a sitting U.S. Senator for looking out for her constituents, and insulting right wing smear merchants that debase our political discourse on a daily basis for personal enrichment.

Yes, I read that when it happened. Mediaite has one example of Olberdouche going after a commentator, but what about his numerous (almost nightly) attacks on Bachman, Blackburn, Palin, or any other woman that does not agree with his “intellectual” opinions.

The only Republican in the House to vote for the HCR was also from Louisiana. That whole state has a culture of corruption.

And his MM smear is nothing like that of the crap said against Landrieu. One is voicing her opinion on current events (MM) the other is being bribed to take part of a bill. If I were a citizen of Louisianna and gave Sen. Landrieu money to vote a certain way, I would be in jail, but since Sen. Reid gave her my money instead, everything is okay and that is just politics? What kind of system is it where open bribery between politicians is okay?
