I hope one day to be famous enough for Maureen Dowd to tell other people what I’m “ACTUALLY” saying. I had no idea she was so clairvoyant! Miss Cleo watch out! Dowd hears things that aren’t actually there!

One must wonder, however, if this is what she “hears,” even when it’s not said… how racist is she? Let’s compare: The guy who rudely shouts something not racist, or the person who assumes it must be race based because that’s the most dynamic feature of the President? Hmmm… seems to me the person who only sees race, would be the racist.

So Maureen Dowd… why are you a racist?

Well if we are going to play the race card MoDo, as some people on here would like to refer to you as, why don’t you mention some of the foolish comments that were made ny some “prominent” blacks to only talk about his race when he succeeded in hoodwinking the country into voting for him because he doesn’t look oike th other presidents on the currency…….if you are going to use it, stick with it both ways.
Maybe you can ask that humantitarian Kanye West to chime in on some of his rhetoric about George Bush.
Fair and Balanced, something the NY Times knows nothing about.

If we were still in the Antebellum Age, Maureen Dowd would be a proud plantation resident, sitting on her front porch…drinking her mint julep…bemoaning the unfortunate status of the “farm hands” she owns.

She is a phony…..shouting and pointing at others….hoping against hope we won’t take a closer look into her mental closet.

Geez….Maureen Dowd is just another Liberal who is CREATING racial tension by her irresponsible remarks. Wilson shouted “You Lie” and Dowd decides that Wilson “filled the air” with You Lie, Boy. Talk about manufacturing a lie. Wilson manned up and immediately called the White House to apologize for the inappropriate behavior. His only crime was disrespecting the President by shouting like a fool at this event. You just don’t do that, it’s not cool. Obama didn’t exactly lie, but he didn’t tell the whole truth, either. He should have added that there’s nothing in the law that mandates proof of US citizenship. If that’s not in there, Illegals are in like Flint.
The President accepted his apology, but that isn’t good enough for Pelosi. She wants to parade him out like a school child to apologize again. Wilson is right. Hell no, he shouldn’t apologize again. This is more for Pelosi’s ego than anything else.
As for Dowd, she should be ashamed of herself for manufacturing a story that isn’t there.

Because someone doesn’t agree and gets caught up in the moment of argueing for what he believes in, he’s a racist. Her example of Iraq isn’t even relavent as the democrats were split over the issue and many voted for it. I believe if you think this was racially motivated then you are only helping extend racism yourself by judging anyone who disagrees with a person of another ethnicity as a racist.

What Maureen and most people leave out is that Obama called Wilson (and others like him) a LIAR before Wilson shouted out what he did:

“Some of people’s concerns have grown out of bogus claims spread by those whose only agenda is to kill reform at any cost. The best example is the claim, made not just by radio and cable talk show hosts, but prominent politicians, that we plan to set up panels of bureaucrats with the power to kill off senior citizens. Such a charge would be laughable if it weren’t so cynical and irresponsible. It is a lie, plain and simple.

There are also those who claim that our reform effort will insure illegal immigrants. This, too, is false – the reforms I’m proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally. And one more misunderstanding I want to clear up – under our plan, no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions, and federal conscience laws will remain in place. ”

Why was it ok for Obama to misrepresent what people were saying about the “death panels” and then pretty much call them liars, but wrong for Wilson to speak up.

This was a partisan speech. The DNC should have paid for this event. But if Obama is going to call critics of his plan “liars” like he did, then he people shouldn’t whine if others push it right back in his face!

Certainly there is legitimate/respectful descent to be found in regards to the politics of the President, but anyone suggesting that the things emanating from Fox News and Glenn Beck aren’t racially motivated is being disingenuous or doesn’t recognize blatant race-baiting.

Maureen, you hit the ball out of the park on this one! Anger is always a surface feeling usually behind the anger is fear!!! Many of the people out there are “afraid” of our first black president. One of the women featured at yesterday event in DC said that the Muslims are taking over our country. If that isn’t fear I don’t know what is. A large part of these people are uneducated but also worse than that they are uninformed because they watch and listen to the right wing nutjobs and actually believe what they say. I knew it would be bad out there after the election. I have no problem with protests. I protested many times in the Bush years. This may be no different than the Bush protests, however, Thank goodness we have an intelligent and self-secure president that can see through all of this garbage.

Proving Ms. Dowd’s valuable intellect and insight. It HAD to be racially motivated. After all, if Hillary had won and started her push for socialized healthcare, no one would dare call her “socialist, fascist, Marxist, Commie, or Nazi”, right? It’s not about the left, it’s about Obama being black (again).

Well played, Ms. Dowd. A shining example for progressive thought once again. Way to cash in on Mr. Glenn Beck’s brand of idiocy by putting words in Mr. Wilson’s mouth (as if it needed to be done to assail his overplayed outburst). Wilson’s comment was officially mitigated by the morning after it happened–though you’d never know it by the buzz that continues around it.

MoDo shares explicitly what many have thought or suspected, but hesitant to be articulated because it’s political dynamite. Most people want to pretend it doesn’t exist or at the very least, put it in the back burner of of their conciousness. But…the sheer vitriol and ad hominem attacks seem to have more than ideological differences. There is something in the air for the hateful invectives hurled at Obama that have been unprecedented in American politics heretofore. If not race..what? When asked what it is about the President’s policies they’re against, the rhetoric turns to nebulous generalities hors political venting or normal discourse. The depth of personal enmity borders on fanaticism and is manifest of a deep seated fear of “them” who are not like “us”. Which is tantamount to racism…by any other name …racism.
