Michael Jackson Kids Among Barbara Walters’ “Most Fascinating People”
What do Michael Jackson’s kids and Glenn Beck have in common? They’re both among Barbara Walters‘ “10 Most Fascinating People of 2009.”
Friend of Mediaite Gossip Cop has the scoop, along with a list of Walters’ other picks:
Gossip Cop can confirm that Walters tapped Jackson’s three kids, Prince Michael I, Paris and Prince Michael II (a.k.a. Blanket) for her ABC special, which airs on December 9. The news veteran, however, did not actually interview them for the show.
Other people tapped as the “Most Fascinating” include Lady Gaga, Glenn Beck, Tyler Perry, Sarah Palin, Brett Favre, and, as Gossip Cop noted last week, Kate Gosselin, South Carolina’s First Lady Jenny Sanford whose husband Governor Mark Sanford cheated on her, and Adam Lambert.

Every year, Baba Wawa selects the obvious newsmakers and emerging stars, some who are on the fringe of significance, and at least one that makes me say, “Who is this person and why do YOU think s/he’s fascinating?”
Last year, the one on the fringe was the so-called “Pregnant Man.” This year, the Jackson kids are on the fringe. The one who is thoroughly un-fascinating is Jenny Sanford. I don’t for a second remember caring what she thought, and to my memory, she didn’t bother to share it with us.
OTOH, if Mark Sanford’s mistress was selected, she would have made it onto the fringe. You have to wonder what a woman half a world away has cooking for a rising political star to sacrifice possibly being a Presidential contender to be with her. In a way, she is sort of a minor-league Wallis Simpson. I would tune in to find out more about her.
I suppose the reason why Walters selected her is because of the success of the CBS show The Good Wife, which was not modeled on Mrs. Sanford, but closely resembles her situation. But so do many other “good wives,” and I don’t make an effort to delve into their minds. Maybe it’s a “she thing.”
Darn. Sorry about not closing my tag.
CNN’s Jeffrey Toobin: Supreme Court Will Not Overrule ‘Deem and Pass’

Bad news for Republicans should they be counting on using the Supreme Court as a last resort to block the Senate health care reform bill. Jeffrey Toobin visited Rick Sanchez today to talk about the chances of success Republicans will have if they try to legally oppose a "deem and pass" vote that would indirectly put the bill on the President's desk, and he didn't waste any time in telling the GOP that, quite simply, it's not going to happen.
CNN’s John King, USA Premieres On Web With Rehearsal Show
There are two very distinct things to note about the way CNN has introduced the upcoming 7pmET show John King, USA to its audience - the show itself and the way it happened. John King hosted a trial run of the program today on CNN.com/live, which gave a sneak peek at what the show will be, but also gave viewers a chance to give their take on the first look.
