Joe Lieberman = bad, traitor, fraud.
Arlen Specter = good, principled, honest.

A Democrat becoming an Independent because the party deems him “not left enough,” is unacceptable, and only the worst things should happen to him. A Republican becoming a Democrat (not an Independent, but actually switching political sides) is a good thing, and it shows the “weakness” and the “single-mindedness” of the party.

Sure it’s hypocrisy… but who cares?!

The Democrats deserted Lieberman for a nobody because they didn’t like Lieberman’s support of the surge.

When Lieberman decided to run as an independent, it became clear to even the most casual observer that Republican and independent voters would flock to him and that he would keep his seat. Only after it was obvious he would remain in the senate did some Democrats begrudgingly offer their support.

Everyone knew the rules of the game. Lieberman played better than his opponents, and to the victor go the spoils.

Then why does most of the pools say they don’t? I”m sorry but jsut because ED Schultz
says it doesn’t make it true.

The majority of the public does NOT want the health care legislation being debated in the Senate right now. Obama deserves great credit for shifting the debate to the point where stubborn Republicans have been forced to admit reform is necessary. Obama deserves blame for allowing Pelosi and Reid to hijack this issue, overplay their hand and utterly exclude Republican ideas from the process.

Now we have two options. Start over with an open mind, or let the Democrats pass something even they think sucks, but which will cost a fortune regardless.

The irony is “moderates” or “fiscal conservatives” are driving up the cost of reform through their fealty to corporate insurance giants. Of course our vaunted “liberal media” never calls them out on their cost increasing ideas, someone might acuse them of being liberal, after all.

Lieberman’s voting record indicates he sides with the Democrats 90 percent of the time. Check your facts. He just happens to disagree on two very high-profile issues (health care and the deployment of our military).

And this story really has nothing to do with Fox or MSNBC. It’s just about Lieberman, and if he were willing to switch parties, I guarantee you the GOP would welcome him, even though he would remain staunchly pro-choice and pro-union.

And don’t be so naive. Every career politican lines his pockets with donations from evil companies, evil unions, evil lawyers, evil everything. The evil people are the ones with the money.

I think it is amazing that the Democrats are now scratching their heads because they guy they totally ass-raped during the 2006 elections is giving it back to them old school. Politics is like the mafia. If you’re going to kill a guy, then by God, you’d better kill him. When you attempt to end a man’s career, and fail, what are the odds that man will use the rest of his career to remind you of your incompetence?

Let’s name the health care legislation after Ned Lamont and then watch crash in flames.
