I am not surprised, the AC360 blog was doing the same thing the other night. They were blocking negative comments about Polanski and Letterman as well.

Sorry, juttahip, I was only speaking to the article, which pretty clearly puts two and two together and comes up with twenty-two. I don’t have your email address and our user operations team gets quite a few inquiries. If you send me your address, I’ll have someone get back to you. There are literally thousands of reasons why your account may have been suspended and none of them have to do Mr. Polanski.

You certainly have a cavalier attitude about it all. Why is there no warning, no message given to users from Facebook before you block their pages? You know my email address, a response would be appreciated instead of your sarcastic remark about conspirators being absurd.

Try posting just the domain to your Fb profile (http://tiny.cc/). You’ll see that it is also blocked. That means, we were seeing and/or users were reporting a lot of spam hiding behind that URL shortener, so we temporarily blocked all sharing of the entire domain. Ms. Goff’s posts using the same URL shortener would have been blocked regardless of the content to which they were pointing. We’re sorry for the minor inconvenience but it was done to protect users from spam.

I’m also sorry to disappoint the conspiracy theorists out there but the suggestion that we would be taking sides in the debate about Mr. Polanski or even between two users is absurd.

YES — ME — Allison Anders, film director. I posted a note on my feelings on the Polanski arrest called “Art Is Not Enough” on my PERSONAL Facebook page which was for MY friends, I barely even tagged anyone on it. I recived a lot of comments and it was then reposted with my permission on Miss Whistle’s Blog Spot and Huffington Post. I had loads of comments on each and every site, and on Sunday morning found myself completely frozen out of my account and today I still am. Block, frozen, a phantom to my friends. No warning from Facebook, no contact, just blocked. I am absolutely infuriated. I wrote to Facebook this morning –and now after seeing your piece — thank you thank you thank you — I wrote to them again demanding a response. Nothing so far.
