Hey this isn’t about this clip but i am Canadian we have police, we don’t ride horses constantly some people might. We have cars. We don’t free ride off of the U.S because you don’t even know what your talking about you said a whole bunch of stereo types about Canadians but then said “Don’t talk bad about Mexicans”! And we don’t say aboot but that boot should be shoved in the mouth of the people who said those this about our Country. We have feelings and families. We are giving our military time to be with their loved ones. And we don’t need to know our military is ready to fight because we didn’t make enemies with the rest of the world like the U.S and by the way American isn’t a language!!!! Just remember how your white house burned in 1812 and the fact that it still gives us pleasure! Think about how we try and keep the peace with our peacekeepers while you provoke wars! Do you like the thought of people dying or something! This is wonderful of the foremost blogs in the field of educational activity. I’ll look into if the 202,000 demo average was their best ever – it’s hard to say why these would be down, but as you can tell the rest of cable news is down as well (for instance, in September, they didn’t beat LKL or AC360, just Campbell).

And ChrisG – I got a Google Alert today with the Activity Pit pick-up of this post, but since I don’t have a commenter log-in I’ll respond here. Of course we’re aware of you guys! But in this particular instance, I took the 3-year anniversary as a jumping off point and went from there…

In 2009, Paul Blart: Mall Cop made $146,000,000. The Hurt Locker made just over $12,000,000. Any credible movie critic would say that the Hurt Locker is far and away much better than Paul Blart. The point is, just because more people watch Fox News does not mean that they are more accurate than any other network. The reason Fox News and every single time slot on that network has more ratings than the others is because of this perception that only Fox News can be trusted because everything else is liberal. This is a perception they sold and it worked. People who say Fox News is far more accurate than MSNBC is living in a little dream world. CNN is the most moderate and balanced of the networks and the most accurate. News is news. Just because it doesn’t conform to your ideology doesn’t mean it’s inaccurate. I don’t get my news from MSNBC even though I agree with most of what they say.

I suppose it is because I’m one of those “evil, goatsucking, devil worshipping” liberals that I don’t find Red Eye entertaining in the least. All it is is “red meat theater”.

I’m amazed that all these shows have such small numbers of viewers.

Here’s an idea. The World Service of the BBC Radio has an hour of live news three times a day. They call it the News Hour (catchy title). So it comes on at a reasonably convenient time for everyone in the world.

Is it so hard to produce an hour of news, live, without political bias or commentary, several times a day on a cable news channel? That’s the problem with ALL cable news channels, there are not enough news programs. Why not have an hour of news at a convenient time for people in all the times zones in the US?

Special Report with Bret Baer on FNC comes on at 3:00 pm on the West Coast, then REPEATs 10 or 11 hours later. Why can’t Fox produce LIVE news more often than that? Even if some of the stories are reruns, it’s not as if nothing new happens during the evening hours.

Okay, thanks for the Red Eye ratings numbers.

Also, if you add in the Friday numbers for CNN then Anderson Cooper is down to 162,600 in the demo. So, if Red Eye’s numbers on Friday were 155,000 or higher, then they would have beat Cooper.

Was 202,000 the best that Red Eye had done in the Demo ever?

What do you think is the reason for its almost 20% drop in ratings since your last story on this? Has their Beck lead in saw a big decline?

With FNC experiencing record ratings and big jumps against last month–why is Red Eye not doing as well as it was?

Any ideas?
