Robert Gibbs Responds To Intra-Party Criticism From Bayh, Podesta
NBC White House Correspondent Chuck Todd asked Press Secretary Robert Gibbs during the briefing today about some recent intra-party criticism – from soon-to-be retiring Sen. Evan Bayh and Obama administration transition head John Podesta.
As expected, he was far less blunt in his response than the critical Dems.
Of Bayh’s exit speech yesterday, he said, “What Evan Bayh identified in 2010 is what led Senator Barack Obama to run for President in 2008.”
Well, they certainly chose to deal with it in very different ways. As for what Podesta told the Financial Times, and specifically this line, “the White House lost control of the narrative,” Gibbs said:
We’ve been dealing with something unforeseen to any administration in 80 years…I don’t know what his criticism is based on.
