Rupert Murdoch Is Launching A New Sunday Edition Of The Sun

Rupert Murdoch is officially launching a new Sunday paper, according to an email he sent to his staff — following the arrest of five Sun journalists allegedly linked to illegal payments to police. The Sun on Sunday will replace News of the World, a Murdoch-owned tabloid that became a casualty of the phone-hacking scandal over the summer.

In his email (which the Guardian published in full), Murdoch said:

We will obey the law. Illegal activities simply cannot and will not be tolerated – at any of our publications. Our board of directors, our management team and I take these issues very seriously.
[...]
We are doing everything we can to assist those who were arrested – all suspensions are hereby lifted until or whether charged and they are welcome to return to work. News Corporation will cover their legal expenses. Everyone is innocent unless proven otherwise.

He added that having “a winning paper is the best answer to our critics.” The paper’s staff has been angry over the arrest, which, according to CNN, they “have likened to a witch-hunt.”

Murdoch underlined his “unwavering” support of his staff, and touted their “exceptional journalism.” The Sun on Sunday will launch “very soon.”

The Sun never sets on the Murdoch media empire.

Another propanada arm of the Murdoch empire. Renaming the ‘News of the world’ doesn’t change a thing, still run by the wretched idea of it’s owner.

I see a British version of The Daily being created within the next year or so and hyped to all heavens across his remaining titles before all of News International is kicked to the curb as a damage control measure. The damage to the reputations of his papers has been done and it’s only going to get worse as more and more investigations are carried out.

    Investigation ge….ting….closer, Foxbots.

    WOW.

    Just. WOW.

    Just. WOW.

The moron is admitting illegal activities were tolerated in his publications. And his board of directors and management didn’t take the issues seriously.

But Rupert promises they will be all good boys from now on.

    Just. WOW.

You know your ethics are in the toilet if you have to issue a press release stating “we will obey the law this time.”

That isn’t what he said.  Government employees aren’t the only ones to break the law, laws are broken in the private sector too.  Its very unusual for the criminality to be from the organization itself, more often its one or more employees and in the case of it being widespread its often in the leadership.  There were arrests this week of numerous players of a football team for selling drugs – is that to mean the entire football team and all the supporting organizations are also criminals?    Even if the coaches had been in on it it’d be a disservice to the players and families to claim they are all guilty without having any evidence to support that.   Most of not all of these arrests are a direct result of the internal probe Murdoch initiated, with relevant information turned over to the authorities.  They aren’t withholding documents like Atty Gen Holder is to cover their own butts, if any criminality is discovered it’ll be up the authorities to make charges.  In the mean time you have an entire organization, employees, supporting organizations and their employees, and everyone’s families who are innocent and do not deserve to be treated like criminals.

When you get back from Arkham Asylum will you still be able to take anything under the SUN and twist it into an attack on all things non-conservative?

If you missed it he was asked questions when he went in front of that government panel and he said some things that we now know to be false, they found a smoking gun that leads right back to Rupert and that places him in what they call ‘legal peril’, so play the partisan on his behalf and STOP going off topic and claiming false comparisons have any value, he caused his own problems and he made the mess that needs to be cleaned up and if the innocent bystanders in this are harmed as they seem to be then he needs to make that right, but it looks like he intends to get right back in to business and we now know he was using the papers to influence and threaten the government into bending to his will something he naever had a right to do and now must pay for.

When the British get done with him then he has legal issues here to deal with due to his alleged violations of US LAW.

But the sun will set on the other side of the …..call them government accommodations without room services, and at least it looks like James will be there to watch his back in the showers.

Its nice to have dreams and fantasies.  Remind yourself that when you are feeling down November 6.  I’d like to say I’m taking Nov 7th off so I can channel surf to enjoy the misery, but firstly there’s a chance I’ll be the one miserable, and secondly after 20min or so watching TV personalities cry I’ll either start to feel sorry for them or want to throw a shoe at the TV, so maybe I’ll just go to bed and find out what happened Nov 7.

Earth paging MORON with NO reading comprehension:

If he had said: “We will obey the law FROM NOW ON” — and thus ACKNOWLEDGED a past transgression — then your statement would be true. Similarly, if he had said: “Our Board of Directors, our management team, and I will START to take these issues seriously”…again, THEN your statement would be valid.

But he said…nor admitted…NO such thing. So here’s a tip: learn the freaking English language. He made a simple, definitive statement. All that he said, pure and simple, is “We will the obey the law” — which is the same reply that I would give… or you would give…if asked the simple question: “How is this new magazine going to be run?”

For crying out loud, going by your scenario, it would be like a teenager asking to borrow the car for a Saturday night date. Which would prompt dear ol’ Dad to hold the car keys at arm’s length and and ask: “No problem, just answer this first. When you’re out on this date, HOW do you plan to drive around town?” So the kid says “I’ll obey the rules of the Road, Dad!” — at which point — again, going by YOUR totally whacked out logic — the Dad would pull the keys back and say “AHA!  I knew it! So what you’re REALLY saying is that up until now you HAVEN’T been obeying the law!!!”

Just. WOW.  Seriously, I know the Left can’t stand Murdoch because, frankly, he’s kicked your asses at every turn. But couldn’t you just TRY to let the tiny bulb over your heads glow with AT LEAST 5 watts of power!?

Do I have to advertise every time I walk on the streets, I walk into a mall, I drive on the freeway

    “I will obey the law”

Your writing is quite fine. Specially in the area of nuanced denials.

(Oh, in case you don’t get it, the last 2 sentences are something called…)
