Limbaugh Blasts Ron Paul For ‘Running To The Left Of President Obama’ On Iran

audio

Rush Limbaugh tore into Ron Paul ‘s statements at last night’s debate — not sanctioning Iran even if they had actionable intelligence that Iran had a nuclear weapon. “We never talk that way about the Russians, the only reason they want nuclear weapons is because we’re making them do it. It’s our fault! If you were in Iran and you had to face these evil Americans, you’d want to bomb too!” mocked the radio talk show host.

“Solid evidence!” Limbaugh exclaimed. “And yet you still would hold back US sanctions? And as a GOP nominee you’d run to the left of Obama on this issue?!”

“We don’t need another war!” Limbaugh ridiculed, lampooning Paul’s nasally voice.

“This was the highlight of the night for Congressman Paul, (there’s) memorable moments in each debate, that little exchange was his.”

Listen to Limbaugh lambaste Ron Paul below via his radio show:

Ron Paul’s getting under Rush’s skin!
    I love it!

ron paul=real conservative Rush limbaugh=bloated moron.

Rush Limbaugh should go and fight with Iran himself. I am so sick and tired of these so called patriotic Americans willing to fight unnecessary, expensive and avoidable wars!

  • Anonymous

No fan of Rush but he’s dead right on this. Paul’s foreign policy ideas are flat out scary. No wonder his biggest fanbase is found on the internet.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_WH3ZLMM7CUKUHUIMK4TKXW6SQE John

Real conservatives shouldn’t want to go spend trillions of more tax dollars on wars that have nothing to do with our own national defense.  Rush doesn’t make any sense.  Rush is holding the same war mongering point of view as Obama and the White House.

  • Anonymous

I wonder if Limbaugh understands that his typical tactics won’t work on Paul. Limbaugh, like Fox News, has helped to run the GOP and Conservatism into the ground. Fox News and Limbaugh have made the party a joke, I wonder when conservatives will stop listening to these stupid people?

Fox News is going to disappear very quickly when the majority can see that there is no benefit to watching, and in fact, if you don’t watch, you end up knowing more about politics and the world. It’s like Fox News is something to turn on to make you less intelligent, isn’t that strange?

The real sad thing is is that we have such a pathetically weak President that Iran is going to have to be dealt with one way or the other very soon!! Candidate Obummer promise he would not let Iran acquire nuclear weapons….another lie…..then again he was saying anything regardless to get elected!!

If Obummer had some nuts he would have backed the protestors in Iran and called for Ackmajnutjob to be over thrown….but he doesn’t so he didn’t and the world is worse off because of it!!

    STFU!!!!

Seriously, if you want war, why don’t you pick up a gun and go to fight in Iran?

War costs lives- a lot of innocent ones. Apparently, you haven’t learnt from Iraq, dumbass

  • Anonymous

Ah, yes, the great Rusty the Chickenhawk is once again rattling sabers. If you want a war so badly with Iran, then Rusty, I have a deal for you. I will volunteer for the armed forces, as long as you are the one leading the charge and I can go in right behind you. I know this will never occur because the last time you had a chance to fight in an actual war, you sat it out because you allegedly had a boil on your butt.

Weak president? His record does not support your ascertion. As for Iran, as Paul mentioned, since some potential US Presidential candidates are talking about bombing it, then that is what spurs the Iranian’s to hurry their developement of nuclear weapons. If they can join the MAD crowd, they believe they will be more safe.

A war fought by mostly Libyans and Nato unlike Iraq where Americans were killing Iraqis

  • Anonymous

So John, you are against our wars but I suspect we would be living in a much more dangeous world if Sadaam and the rest of the tyrannts were still around. Correct?

  • Anonymous

Incorrect.  His response to Iran getting our drone was proof enough he was weak, “We asked for it back, we’ll wait for their response.”  Yeah, that’s real tough there, Rambo.

And MAD?  You actually are that ignorant of the entire subject that you think Mutual Assured Destruction has any meaning to them at all?  Are you so oblivious that you actually don’t realize these are the same people strapping bombs to themselves and aren’t worried about dying?  They WANT the world to end.  I’d wish you were alone in that, but it’s painfully obvious that’s not true at all.  Look up the 12th Imam and Ahmadinejad’s belief regarding it.

  • Anonymous

    You have problems.

    1) Obama did sign the healthcare bill- his major promise.
    2) Did Iran ever say that it will nuke the USA and do they have such capabilities? Would Iran risk the full force of Americas WMD in retaliation?

  • OSTL

Libya was a war fought by mostly Libyans and NATO while Iraq was mostly Americans killing Iraqis……..nice to know that you are so foolish not to know the difference.

The hypocrisy comes in when you accuse Obama of leading from behind but then claim that America attacked Libya in war.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_WH3ZLMM7CUKUHUIMK4TKXW6SQE John

The Iraq army under Sadaam Hussein couldn’t do squat against us.  If anything they were a counter balance to Iran.  But we spent a couple trillion dollars invading Iraq that we could have spent on our own national defense.  We also got a lot of our guys killed in the process and created more potential terrorists.   AND YOUR STILL ARGUING IT WAS A GOOD IDEA???

That’s a logical fallacy. It’s a possibliity we would be in a less safe world, but imagine how much more money and clout we would have had we not gone to war?

Didn’t conservatives take anything away from the wars we fought? We are broke because of the wars! We aren’t winning them, there is no winning because aren’t fighting armies… and not only are we not winning anything, we’re just throwing money up in the air being there.. and that’s not even counting the civilian lives lost, military lives lost, military suicides…

We don’t need to be at war to be safe and we would probably be more formidable if our economy wasn’t a pile of crap.

So, to be clear, what would have been Obama’s best course of action, other than to ignore the advice of all his military and national security advisers who recommended that we not risk going to war with Iran over a silly drone?

  • Anonymous

The ignorance displayed here is absolutely mind boggling.  Of course, we can expect no better from Ron Paul, after all, that guy has consistently ignored what terrorists say their motives are.  Yes, yes, they say they attack America because of our foreign policy, but he continually, conveniently, ignores the fact these same muslims proclaim time and time again that they want to establish a world caliphate and war, unfortunately, is the inevitable ends of islam.

He belongs to a sect of Shia Islam which believes it’s their duty to bring about global war to bring back the 12th Imam who will set the world right.  With such a twisted, backwards belief, how can you let such a person have a weapon of mass destruction and almost help them to do it, as Ron Paul seems dang near willing and able to do?

How many casualties have we had in Libya exactly? How much money spent?

Well, the military presented him with three plans in regards to the drone, all of which included re-obtaining it or destroying it and rejected them all.  So, I’m not sure who’s advice you’re talking about here exactly.

I mean, there’s this video here talking about Obama rejecting all the plans presented to him http://youtu.be/kxOwaY107hw

And tell me, was spying on them not considered, by them, an act of aggression?  And how many service members of ours have to be killed by them to be considered an act of war?  And just keep in mind, a judge ruled today there’s enough evidence to say definitively that Iran helped cause 9/11 http://dailycaller.com/2011/12/16/federal-judge-iran-shares-responsibility-for-911-terror-attacks/

Estimates of deaths in the 2011 Libyan  war vary with figures from 2000 to 30000 given between March 2 and September 8. …

  • Hout Bosques

How so? He’s managed to turn the Recc party into Von Mises type Austrian economics supporters with his complete ignorance on how money works, and he’s been pretty much at war with the Civil Rights Act of 1965 ever since he entered Congress in 1975. And even his foreign policy stance, currently considered so ‘quirky’, was conservative doctrine before WWII, and remained a big factor in conservative circles right up until Viet Nam.

So he’s no longer CONSIDERED “conservative” on foreign policy, but that’s a lot more because the Recc party got so taken up in war mongering, and largely changed, not because he Ron Paul changed. Ron Paul has been consistent his entire adult life on foreign policy, economics & domestic human rights, and for at least some period of time during that adult life his position on each has been consistent with middle-of-the-road conservative Recc party doctrine. It the Recc party that has gone off truly conservative positions, not Ron Paul.

  • Anonymous

You are not being objective. Had Obama followed through with his initial impressions on foreign policy, before (after his election) he was given his Presidential security briefing, and quickly pulled out of the middle east, I would agree with you. But he has been substantially following the Bush policies, in that regard. What is your gripe?

  • Philip Petracca

The WAR MACHINE is out in force today!    We have only two options in the GOP race, more WARS or PEACE – Ron Paul for Peace, Freedom and Liberty!

  • Anonymous

You’re hatred shines through, it’s fairly obvious.  Christians are coming at it from a defensive position, trying to prevent it.  Muslims are coming at it from the position that they believe they are to start it.  Liberals come at it from the position that they should help the muslims, especially at their own detriment, but especially Israel’s and that’s the most confusing of it all.

OK. Don’t forget we gutted Sadaam militarily during the first gulf war. (By the way, you were against that war too?) However, not withstanding world wide economic sanctions, Sadaam had substantially rebuilt his army (selling black market oil) by the time we began the current war. Now, eight years later, what kind of military capability do you think Sadaam would have if we had left him in place? Surely the situation would be worse than it is now with Sadaam gone, Gadaffi gone, terrorists and tyrants falling left and right, and the jihadists in afganistan hiding out in caves?

  • Hout Bosques

I’m sure Limbaugh DOES understand that – which then raises the question as to why he is going after Ron Paul so hard.

I think it’s because there’s so much in the way of unknowns to this crazy quilt of state primary rules for 2012. In the past, even as recently as 2008, the GOP nomination process was so easy to follow – not transparent, mind you, because it held so much potential for the RNC to interfere & effectively allow the Recc party establishment to ‘pick’ it’s nominee over the unfocussed input of the party faithful. But then the Religious Right came into the mix, and ever since the party apparatus has been open to being at least locally ‘democratized’. The break point seems to have happened in 2010, with the TPers succeeding in overriding the establishment’s will in at least 4 states (Alaska, Delaware, Kentucky & Nevada), and even then, the democratization process has continued on the state level, to this point where the rules in any one state are less likely to accord with the rules in any one other state than at any time that I can remember – & my memories go back to before the Goldwater debacle.

When Rachel Maddow points to the history of Iowa primaries not mattering in the past, that’s so, but under a rules regime that was more predictable & more open to national level manipulation by the RNC & the Recc party establishment than it is now.  I think now the concern of those two national ‘bodies’ is that this thing has gotten out of their control, and it’s that lack of control & predictability that’s freaking them.

Too bad Paul’s perchance for isolationism cannot be surgically removed from him.  Paul is most definitely correct that we can’t afford more lengthy wars and that we need to strategically reassess the scope of our world reach.  He’s right that we as a county too often resort to use of force.  But he’s incapable of recognizing Iran has for decades been the engine for many of the region’s conflicts – the latter portions of the war in Iraq was in many ways a proxy war with them.  He would treat them on the same level as Sweden or Switzerland with no acknowledgement in policy that the adventurism on the world stage of these last two ended five hundred years ago.  Beyond the question of whether or not he’d take military action, Paul wouldn’t do so much lift a finger to impose sanction should they get the bomb.

Not that it matters, though.  If Iran IS a year away from a bomb, they’ll get it before Obama’s term is out.  I don’t see Obama responding aggressively in this case.  Not that he isn’t willing – Democrats, more so progressives as with Obama, are no less eager to use force than are Republicans – just that he doesn’t have the political capital within his own base to do it.  A nuclear armed Iran is something the world is probably going to have to deal with.  And unlike NKorea, which confines its crazy to its own peninsula (when not selling nuclear secrets), it won’t become a thing easy to live with.

Unless Israel does something about it.  Would Obama have Israel’s back in the UN?  Would Paul?

There is one simple reason why Michele Bachmann & Santorum & the rest are absolutely nuts in suggesting Iran has any plans at all to attack any other country, Israel least of all, with nukes:

[and I mean besides the fact that they don't have nukes, but anyway ...]

    Retaliatory strikes.

In about a half hour’s time, Tehran would be turned into a giant glass table top, and within a day tens of millions of Iranians would be dead or dying of radiation poisoning.

It’s not as if Iran is unaware of the one, single, solitary incident of a nation using nukes on another nation. Can anyone hear remember who that one, single, solitary nation was who used nukes on another nation? Iran can remember, very easily: it’s the same nation that screwed up their secular democracy in 1953, that sicc’d Iraq on them for a decade in a proxy war, and which has an entire national party singing “Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran” while brushing their teeth every morning and night.

Porky has been acting like a madman. I remember the 1st time I heard him on the radio in 1992 while commuting back and forth from work 90 minutes each way. Back then he sounded a lot more reasonble. He’s become a thorn in the side of most republican. If they say something he doesn’t like, they apologize to him. This tells me that they’re not only afraid of him, but speaks to a larger issue that they can be bought. I don’t give a crap if it appears that Paul is running to the left of Obama. In fact, porky is wrong on that. Obama kisses Netanyahu’s ass as much as the republicans. We finally have a candidate who dares to admit that the Jews have Nukes and can take care of Iran on their own. Why the fruck does the US have to speak for the Jews. Let them deal with Iran. They’re more than capable of doing it. If they want our help, let them ask, don’t freakin volunteer to bomb Iran. Bachmann said that Iran saying that it wants to erradicate the Jews is a US national security interest. It’s not threat to us or our national security there are 8 countries who have Nukes and we’re not all bent out of shape and are not parranoid about it. This more kissing up to the Jewish Lobby and please don’t say that I’m anti-semitic. I have no problem with the Jewish religion or anyone else’s. I just don’t like the lies spewed by Netanyahu who is holding our entire country hostage. All of our politicians stand in line to kiss his ass. What do we get in return for providing $4 billion in annual financial aid as well as military equipment.

    Snowsoul,
That would have been your choice, to bomb the drone? Kill a few hundred people. For what purpose?

  • Anonymous

Why? To protect the technology? Like they didn’t remove the important parts immediately. The Iranians are a very smart people and they are probably reverse engineering their own drone right now. So what. Iran is no match for the US. What could you possibly be afraid of from Iran?

  • Anonymous

Idiot, how do you blow up a drone that is behind enemy lines?

Ahmnenijad still had so many supporters…..no one in their right mind would want to intervene in Iranian affairs. Furthermore, how would it look like on America’s image if they invaded iran after iraq? two neighbouring arab countries……

It was a very old, out-dated drone that had very little advanced technology. It just didn’t matter that it fell into their hands. My guess is these things self-destruct the important circuitry anyway. The Iranians got hosed with the Stuxnet virus; they’re not going to catch up any time soon, as their best and brightest are memorizing the Koran instead of studying physics.

  • Just some Blow Hard…

“But he’s incapable of recognizing Iran has for decades been the engine for many of the region’s conflicts”

    how so?

The Taliban was Sunni based and Osama Bin Laden is Saudi

Most of Hamas and Hezbollah are Sunni based and most money is funneled from Saudi Arabia

Most of the PLO and Arafat were Sunni Arabs.

Most of the hijackers on 9/11 were Saudi and the others were from Sunni based countries (Egypt, Lebanon, and UAE)

Egypt, Libya, and All North African Islamic countries are Sunni.

If you read wiki leaks, protecting Israel isn’t the main point for hostilities with Iran, protecting Saudi Arabia is.

  • Anonymous

Who said invade?  Who said anything along that line?  How many covert operatives do you figure we have over there?  How difficult would it be to blow it to smithereens?

Recall, Osama?  Recall Pakistan?  Honestly, sometimes your penchant to pick fights and act stupid just grates.

    Seriously?

  • Anonymous

No we didn’t, liar.  Saddam’s Iraq was a Soviet client state awash in Warsaw Pact hardware – still was when we invaded in 1991.  We gave Iraq minimal technical support some time after he invaded because Saddam’s policy of containing Iran was tangibly congruent to ours and intelligence data towards the end in the conflict during the War of the Cities phase in order to bring the Iranians to the table.

  • Just some Blow Hard…

You didn’t specify and with the trolls around here, I wouldn’t be surprised if some one did think to nuke Iran.

    Sorry to misread.

  • Daniel Key

Lol…”selling black market oil”.  You mean selling oil?  It’s only black market because America said it was black market.  It’s just like saying “people were selling black market marijuana to each other”.  It wouldn’t be “black market” if it were legal.

  • Anonymous

Syria is “Sunni based” as well.  Yet guess who is Iran’s major regional ally?

I don’t need wiki leaks to inform me that our primary interest in the region is the defense of the largest oil producer in the region.  Yet Israel has their own concerns, having been subjected to attack from almost all their neighbors – Lebanon the only exception.  Since then, of course, Lebanon has been subjected to a decades long internal conflict resulting in Syrian domination of the state and loss of control of their southern border region to terrorist groups.  Iran wins allies – across sectarian lines – by underwriting these efforts.  The reason why Gaza is shut down under embargo, besides the indigenous terror that arises from Hamas, is to prevent it from being flooded by Iranian provided rockets and motors.

  • Daniel Key

Wow…you people are insane.  Could you not possibly see how dropping a bomb on foreign soil, even if it were to destroy our drone, may be perceived as DROPPING A BOMB ON FOREIGN SOIL?

You’ve been spoonfed so much “‘Merica is the greatest country on Earth!” propaganda that you can’t even seen how psychotic your position actually is.  What if China had a drone that crashed in a field just outside the city limits of San Diego and they flew over and dropped a bomb on it?

The towers were brought down by two “special nuclear demolition devices of less than 150 kT yield” designed by CDI, and declared under the terms of the Peaceful Nuclear Explosions Treaty with the former Soviet Union.  This declaration was witnessed by former Soviet nuclear compliance officer  of the 12th Directorate, Dimitri Khalezov.  These devices were a condition precedent to the towers being built in NY.  Governor Nelson Rockefeller had to have the building codes for NY State rewritten to allow such high structures in Manhattan.  A similar device was also declared under the Treaty under the Sears tower in Chicago. The Pentagon was hit by a nuclear tipped Granite missile, which didn’t detonate.  Flight 93 was shot down by a component of the ND ANG.

“Ground Zero” means the detonation point of a nuclear device.

It is not illogical or a fallacy to suggest that we are better off without Sadaam, Osama, Gadaffi, etc.  And our presence in the middle east, though appalling to the bad guys there, is what will make true freedom possible. We can already see that happening in Libya and other places. No way any of those popular movements would have been possible without the bad guys knowing we have smart bombs ready to go just a few hundred miles away.

Our nation has chosen to step into the breach, to piss off the bad guys, to take their best shot. We did that to save the lives of people who mostly do not appreciate our sacrifice. Like our Lord and Savior.  Merry Christmas.

That chuckle-head Rush Limbaugh is almost half-right when suggesting it would be good to aim for a smaller government, it is just that he doesn’t know what a small government is.  But mostly, he gets paid to act like a light-minded populist Buffoon, and I guess there are still some people watching that show today to hear him spew out his light-minded drivel.  If you really believe he means what he says, rather than he means to support the views those bankrolling him, you would think he is heading straight to hell (if you believe in the bible.)

Like Gingrich, Rush is mainly good at being a liar.  But Rush is always doing some illicit thing with one drug or another, so I guess we shouldn’t be so worked up about about that particular fat old man since we know it is likely the drugs talking anyway.  Gingrich, Romney, Perry, Santorum, and Bachmann don’t have that sort of good excuse for their words and actions.

    July 19, 2011…..Iran Invades Iraq
ranian Troops Attack Kurdish Camps in IraqThousands
of Iranian Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) troops crossed into northern Iraq
over the weekend, bombarding Iraqi Kurdish villages.

The Iraqi government has quietly acknowledged the Iranian military operation on Iraqi soil, but has not called it an invasion.

Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and the prime minister of the
Kurdish regional government, Dr. Barham Salih, left for Beijing as the
Iranian invasion began, for a long-planned trip aimed at encouraging
    Chinese investment in Iraq.

Rush, much like Hannity, realizes his precious position as Republican mouthpiece is coming to an end. The views he spouts are old school neo-con positions, a relic from the Dubya administration. Ron Paul’s views, especially on foreign policy and upholding the Constitution, are what today’s Republicans are embracing. Rush and Hannity, who wouldn’t dream of allowing the constitution to stand in the way of a good war in which they themselves would not have to fight, are yesterday’s news. For them, there is nothing more frightening than losing the spotlight.

It is a fact that the U.S. military was used to attack and assault Libyan government ground forces and supply convoys with AC-130 flying gunships and A-10 attack aircraft under the banner of the NATO. American pilots and planes were used to bomb another country. IMAO this is an act of war. It is no different than the time Japan bombed the United States. That was an act of war.
If Bombing another country is not an act of war, than what is it called?

Uhm no its not. And libya again, was fought by Libyans. They were united. Iraq on the other hand was a few Kurds who wanted to tear Iraq apart against 99% of the Iraq population and the USA. I lived under Saddam and I will tell you by direct experience that I would rather live under him than live under George Bush I or II. Saddams problem was his kids going around sleeping with women and a few corrupt generals who were accused of things but the stories were never really substantiated (note that Iraqis have a flare for throwing things out of proportion and telling half truths). Have you actually read the Bush family history? They are criminals, thieves, liars and cheaters from their grandparents who profited from concentration camps to Bush empowering enron and killing the California economy, the fraudulent real estate valuations that created the 1st financial crisis etc etc. The latest scam is Jed trying to sell horribly made educational software to Florida via political influence.

  • Marcus

Because it was backed by majority of people of Libya… that is the difference.

Last time I checked, America did not back the bombing of pearl harbor.

  • Marcus

Little less watching anime and playing games for you. Its a spy plane that was illegally spying on them in their own country. If they caught it, then they have a right to it. Same would be true if we down a spy jet from Venezuela. You dont go to war to get something back that shouldnt have been there to begin with.

Second, Islam and Christianity both want the world to end. Christians call it the tribulation when they all get to go to heaven for being such good people (not). Islam wants to do it through force, which ironically enough, is basically how you want to do things… lol.

  • Marcus

    Snowsoul,

How do you shoot down a drone that is already down? You probably meant something else.

Second, whats the point in spending money on occupying countries if your country back home might not survive? On top of that, we have this other problem, WE ARE OUT OF MONEY! lol. You want weakness? Look at what these wars have done to us. We are weaker than we ever were historically because of the wars and occupations.

  • Marcus

Those were not options that anyone with an IQ over 95 would consider.

Kinda stretching it there. “President” Obama would have fulfilled more of those campaign promises if not for Republicans voting against it and a change in the air after the TARP funding. The Tarp deal turned Americans against big govt spending thereafter losing the House.

Rush is the foreign policy expert now  is he? Ron is partly right. Iran with a nuke would be more respected. Iran mullahs aren’t dumb. They want a nuke to bully their neighbors and it’s working. Saudis are in a panic over the thought of a nuke equipped Iran and so are a lot of other MUSLIM countries. Iran would use that weapon to gain power over them. Iran wouldn’t shoot it at Israel or the US because they know Tehran would become a moonscape afterwards.
