As far as I can see no one knows for sure exactly what is going on but the left is already calling for a moratorium on nuclear power plants. Why wait until the facts are in and have been studies. I don’t care if people do use it to ask questions about building new nuclear plants. They should. I live 100 miles away from the Callaway nuclear plant in Fulton, MO. It is over 25 years old. That plant is about 200 miles away from the New Madrid fault. The last “big one” from that fault was well over 200 years ago, and it is overdue for another “big one.” The last “big one” changed the course of the Mississippi River, and it rang church bells in Boston. Damage would be extensive if another huge earthquake struck on the New Madrid fault, and no telling what might happen to that nuclear plant. No one can predict something like that.

Can we stop pretending that Rush contributes anything productive to political discourse? How does his death not help in the implementation of better public policy? And how is better public policy not more beneficial to society as a whole that one fat guy with a radio show? Just because you “agree” (quotations because sheep don’t really have opinions of their own) with him doesn’t mean he makes America better. And, in fact, he makes it far worse, so wishing for his (natural) death is the patriotic thing to do.

I’ve been a Rush listener for 20 years, but I’m getting ready to turn him off for good.
I used to think he was entertaining and often made good points, particularly when it came to political correctness and the cultural wars. He would cover interesting things that didn’t make headlines elsewhere and he was great at using humor to tweak the lefties.
But he’s changed. Now he’s just another meanspirited crank telling other meanspirited cranks what they want to hear, regardless of the truth. He’s become lazy and he either twists facts or makes them up to suit his agenda.
Today he suggested a Reuters reporter who wrote a perfectly factual story about the day’s events in Japan was somehow sad becase the “liberal media” wants a meltdown and lots of deaths to futher its agenda.
It’s like the man said to Joe McCarthy back in ’54: “Have you no sense of decency, sir? At long last, have you left no sense of decency?”

Is he freaking serious, is he not seeing what the rest of the word is seeing? 30 foot waves coming ashore 6 miles inland 20 minutes after the quake with 16,000 missing in one town, 10,000 missing from another town with a population of 17,000 and that is just a few. As far as the nuclear disaster, it’s now worse than 3 mile island and rated a 6 out of 7 in radiation leaks and its not even over yet with the radiation entering our atmosphere. Is not Fox news reporting the same facts as everyone else on the Japan disaster? Calling the so called liberal media as fear mongering is laughable coming from the king of fear mongering. Is everything in your life taken so literally as to place liberal blinders on your peripheral vision. He implied very clearly that the media (fox included) was exaggerating the nuclear catastrophe at the expense of the real tragedy. He in no way minimized the effects of the quake/tsunami disaster.
