This is a nothing story, and most people won’t care. Tiger is a major celebrity who keeps a squeaky clean and very low profile, so anything that throws the slightest wrench into that image will pique the interest of substandard journalists. All we really know is he had a one-car accident, and the only person hurt was himself. This is a nothing story.

Does anyone remember when the press tried their best to explode Michael Jordan’s gambling into a story. Another squeaky clean, mega-sports star, so the fact that he enjoyed high-stakes golf bets (high stakes by our standards, not his) was supposed to be a way to tarnish him.

They failed to tarnish Jordan, and they will fail to tarnish Tiger.

Woods is news for obvious reasons. He’s huge “news” because decades of increasingly dumbed-down masses have made it so. FanBoys. SportsGoons. Inner emptiness prevails in Murcuh – like no other civilized nation. We demand little – thus get little in return. Intellectual vegetation has long been the rule.

DW, I disagree. There are plenty of stories out their if you go out and look for them. The lamestream media wants to frame what us peons should know. They’re looking for ways to avoid telling us how bad the economy is as well as the global warming B.S. Anyway they can cover obama’s azz believe me they’ll find a way. Some are more in-tuned than me. The truth always surfaces somewhere. Once they get past the Tiger B.S. they’ll be forced to cover the main issues of the day or they’ll keep losing viewership and readership too.

I confess my stupidity right now. I was trying to figure out the significance of why this story has become the primary story in the lamestream media and I’m really ashamed of myself for not seeing through this. The real reason it has become the big story of the day is because it once again diverts us American’s attention away from the most important topics of the day. The first being the global warming leaked emails that have surfaced have been pushed aside now to all things Tiger related. The other topics that have been diverted away from is the state of our poor economy, Afghanistan, Health Care and finally the poor job obama is doing. Even Drudge is getting sucked up into it. Gotta give those liberal leftist lamestream zombie media types a huge amount of credit. These left wing media zombies really know how to design the game of diversion. It took me a while but I finally figured it all out. My hats off to you zombies for your skill and tenacity in diverting our attention from the real issues of the day. Damn you’re good.

I think Tiger has been an incredible ambassador for his sport. He’s well-spoken, thoughtful, and attractive to sponsors and fans alike. He alone is an industry. So what now? The stonewalling smacks of ‘we-have-to-get-our-stories-straight-before-we-go-public.’ In the end (and as hard as it might be to believe), I think this blows over rather than dogs Tiger for the rest of his days. People have a vision of Tiger, and they’ll hold onto that.
