Sometimes it’s just too easy for television’s punditocracy. In yesterday’s speech regarding the failed terrorist attack of Christmas Day, Barack Obama admitted that there was a failure “to connect the dots,” a clean, honest and trite acknowledgment that mistakes had been made. Also, a perfect soundbite for TV pundits eager to simplify a complex narrative into a few, easy-to-understand words, almost like a puzzle designed to quiet children on a restaurant placemat. Speaking of which…

Mike Gallagher, George Will, Chris Wallace, and Greta Van Susteren all used the hackneyed phrase stated by President Obama.

Here’s an easy soundbite for ya.

The day after this knucklehead tried to blow himself up on the plane Janet Napolitano told me everything worked like clockwork.

A few days later, Janet Napolitano told me. It didn’t exactly work like clockwork.

yeah – um, I think you might be guilty of oversimplifying what Napolitano said as well. Not defending her, nor the DHS, but you may want to go back and look carefully at what she said both before and after.

Only a failed detonator saved the passengers on Northwest flight 253 from Amsterdam to Detroit. Janet Napolitano told Jake Tapper on “This Week” that “everything went according to clockwork” in how passengers, crew and the government reacted to the attempted bombing of Flight 253. Only the passengers acted correctly. It took days for the government to react correctly.

DOS is getting a pretty big pass on this whole mess. Info from the Embassy was not passed appropriately or adequately.

Since NCTC stood up the dots have been connected until Obama took over. There have now been THREE attacks this year (actually 13, but the other 10 were completely scuttled). The problem is that Obama changed the policies (that news is well documented all over the internet) and adjusted the attitude — no longer a war on terror, but overseas contingency operations; no longer terrorists disasters – but man caused disasters. It is an attitudinal problem. We are back to pre 9/11 practices — crime not war. I think Sarah Palin said it pretty well on her face book page.

I think you & I could sit down with an adult beverage and talk about screwups in the DHS today. And in years past.

I see you posted FNC folks names (In Boldface), aahh, there were other people there in that clip. And how many other folks on the Cable Networks used that phrase yesterday?

That said the Colbert clip was funny. T.G.I. Jihads LMAO! Thanks for posting that! And to show you that we do have something in common here. Yes, I do think Mike Gallagher is an a** clown. But I also think Mike Malloy is from outer space.
