KHON was broadcasting via their website, CNN.com and UStream. It's probably good from a technological sense that the burden was spread over several servers, but one of the "problems" of a distributed platform is that we may never know for sure, how many people were watching it online (or on their phones).

All in all, I agree that yesterday was a good example of what technology can do.

Most media couldn't get to the site in time and we had a good idea of when it would happen, so we didn't have to all sit around watching air-dropped reporters killing time with the "things they have learned" and instead, we all just waited and watched for the thing to unfold.

The broadcast/satellite technology is amazing.

The ability to predict what mother nature is gonna do? Still 50/50 at best.

Pretty obvious global warming caused the tsunami wave to dissipate! Of course if the tsunami wave had emerged and hit, it would have been obviously caused by global warming as well. Funny how that works isn't it?
