Tweets and Bacon! ‘Let’s Get Social’ Is the Defining Social Media Song

Social media is the be-all, end-all of human existence these days, and there is perhaps no better distillation of that than “Let’s Get Social,” an anthem for the web age. Yes, at this year’s Social Media Marketing World, Mary McCoy from Continuum Managed Services performed the definitive tribute to all things social, including tweets, viral videos, and the internet’s obsession with bacon.

The song includes lyrics like “I’m hoping you’ll share my stuff/And tweet it to the world” and “We try to keep from paying/That leads to hashtag #fail.” Yes, this is a song specifically about social media, so based on your personal tolerance for such things, your mileage may vary.

The only way that could have possibly been more social is if it had cameos from Keyboard Cat, the Evolution of Dance guy boogying in the background, a remixed version of the Dramatic Chipmunk music at some point in the tune, and a cameo by the Chocolate Rain guy.
