Video: Pittsburgh Cop Repeatedly Punches Teen Girl at Gay Pride Event

The city of Pittsburgh is investigating an incident at the PrideFest this past weekend when a police officer was caught on camera repeatedly punching a teenager for, as the officer said, engaging in a fight with an individual who was at the gay pride event to speak out against gay rights.

The full video shows a few of the attendees arguing with a man preaching about the gay lifestyle. After a few rounds back and forth of arguing, you can see a cop intervening to break up the fight, taking one of the girls who was close to the preacher, and after a few seconds he starts repeatedly punching her, which led to the entire crowd freaking out. The person recording the video shouted, “I got it on video! You’re going to fucking court!”

Mayor Bill Peduto said yesterday that the officer in question, Souroth Chatterji, has been put on restricted duty as they conduct an internal investigation into the matter. Chatterji claims that as he was trying to handcuff the girl, she “fought with him and kicked him in the groin.”
