Yahoo News Finds That America’s Youth Doesn’t Know Who Is Vice President
Everyone knows that these Jay Leno-esque “Man on the Street” interview videos are baloney, right? After all, it’s easy to ask questions to a large number of people, then edit together a video that only includes the stupidest answers people gave. Still, the following clip is worth sharing—if only because it’s incredible that in it, someone confuses Harry Reid with Harry Truman.
As Curb Your Enthusiasm‘s jaunty theme music plays, a Yahoo staffer asks several young people simple questions: Who’s the Vice President? Who’s the Speaker of the House? How many U.S. senators are there? Predictably, most of the interviewees are utterly stumped. Perhaps this is meant to show that kids in America aren’t too apathetic to vote – they’re simply too ignorant to know about the government.
Somehow, though, we think that if Yahoo had targeted older Americans, they would have been able to find fairly similar results.
