Ron Paul Angrily Rebuts Jake Tapper Over Question About 9/11 Conspiracies

paul-911-tapper video

Ron Paul rebuffed ABC News’s Jake Tapper on Sunday’s This Week, when he had brought up a quote by former senior campaign aide Eric Dondero, saying the Republican presidential candidate had engaged in 9/11 conspiracy theories. “About the conspiracy of Bush — of Bush knowing about this?” Paul responded incredulously. “No, no, come on! Come on! Let’s be reasonable! That’s just off-the-wall!”

Conspiracy Theories Alight Over Bin Laden’s Body: The Birth Of A Generation’s Grassy Knoll

Bin Laden

On Reddit, the website that arrogantly (but not necessarily incorrectly) calls itself “the voice of the Internet,” discussions are split into various boards or “subreddits” that cater to a specific topic. This morning, in the subreddit based around US politics, a poster wrote in to say that another section of the site was the only one “getting the Obama death right.” The section in question? The Conspiracy subreddit. The reason they were right? The majority of them think the government is lying to us about Osama bin Laden’s death. Forget the birth certificate. An entire generation just got its grassy knoll.

Jesse Ventura Likens US Gov. To Nazis, Says He’d Run For VP (But Only As An Independent)

Ventura GMA video

Jesse Ventura appeared on Good Morning America this morning for a typically loopy segment with George Stephanopoulos to promote his new book. They talked about how funny Chris Rock is, Michele Bachmann’s presidential prospects, and, of course, whether or not the US government orchestrated the deaths of thousands of Americans on 9/11. Stephanopoulos also asked Ventura if he had any White House aspirations. Ventura said he’d consider a Vice Presidential run but only as an Independent since everyone else is part of the problem.

Robert Gibbs Responds to Eric Cantor’s Refusal to Reject Birther ‘Crazy Talk’

Image1 video

On Sunday, I reported that House Majority Leader Eric Cantor refused to reject Birther “crazy talk” on Meet the Press. At Monday’s White house briefing, I asked Press Secretary Robert Gibbs if he thought that Republican leaders had a duty to put the kibosh on Birther talk, and whether the President would do the same were the positions reversed. Gibbs responded that “rational people” don’t question the President’s citizenship, and pointed to Obama’s own record regarding his opponent’s status.

It Begins: Rep. Eric Cantor Refuses to Reject Birther ‘Crazy Talk’ on Meet the Press

With Gov. Neil Abercrombie‘s (D-HI) now-open-ended resurrection of the Birther issue, expect to see more of the embarrassing scene that played out on Sunday morning’s Meet the Press: Republican leaders trying to distance themselves from the conspiracy theorists, without alienating them. Rep. Eric Cantor danced around host David Gregory‘s challenge to reject Birthers like an amateur snake-charmer with a bladder full of Mountain Dew. Deliberately or not, Abercrombie just might be some kind of political genius.

9/11 Truther Ed Asner Offers Conspiracy Theories on The Adam Carolla Show

57459674 audio

Did you know that Ed Asner, of The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Hollywood in general, is a 9/11 Truther? Adam Carolla didn’t seem to when, on his podcast, Asner started to offer his views as to why the government was behind that Twin Towers attack. Here we go.

Conspiracy! How The Simpsons Predicted 9/11 And Saved Us From Another Catastrophe!

Simpsons 911 video

Conspiracy theories have something for everyone. For some, these theories, disturbing as they are, are almost comforting in that they seem to show that, however chaotic things get, there’s actually an order to the madness and, even if the people in control have sinister intentions, we can stop them if we just pay close enough attention to the clues. For others, these theories are great because they’re hilarious and sometimes involve reptile people! A new theory gaining traction and being reported by the New York Observer certainly fits into both categories. It proposes that The Simpsons predicted the 9/11 attacks and not just because the show began to get terrible right around the time of that terrible event.

Cindy Sheehan: “I’m A 9/11 Truther, I Do Think It Was An Inside Job”

Screen shot 2010-09-29 at 9.47.16 AM video

Cindy Sheehan, who became a vocal and respected anti-war activist after her son was killed in the Iraq war, has declared “I’m a 9/11 Truther, I do think it was an inside job.” Oof. So much for credibility.

Bernie Goldberg Tells Bill O’Reilly Why Liberals Like The “Ground Zero Mosque”

Bernie Goldber video

Tonight on The Factor, Bill O’Reilly and Bernie Goldberg used Goldberg’s segment to discuss a number of topics relating to the proposed Islamic community center and the (liberal) media’s relation to it. The jumping off point was the revelation in the New York Post that Faiz Khan, an associate of Imam Rauf’s is a 9/11 Truther, something that O’Reilly likened to President Obama’s connection to Jeremiah Wright.

Jesse Ventura Calls Sarah Palin “A Quitter,” Part Of Tea Party Conspiracy

Picture 1 video

This morning’s guest on Fox and Friends warned that the Constitution was under attack and that the two-party system was bleeding the nation dry. He made clear his disdain was equal for both the Bush and Obama administrations, and noted that he would only support politicians that are truly independent.

Naive Much? Van Jones Explains How He Landed On A 9/11 Truther Petition

Picture 5

Van Jones — for months now only visible as a head on Glenn Beck’s chalkboard representing all the is evil, Maoist, and worst of all, progressive in Barack Obama’s administration — raised his actual head last night and explained how he got on a 9/11 Truther list. Good thing no one tried to sell him a bridge.

Van Jones Goes Quietly Into Slow Labor Day News Weekend

Is there a better time to bury news than Saturday night of a sleepy holiday weekend? Probably not —by Tuesday, this will be a two-day-old story that will be pushed aside in favor of focusing on Obama’s scary, propagand-tastic speech to America’s children. Even the Sunday shows didn’t get into it too deep. Such is the holiday weekend news cycle.
