Chinese dissident Chen Guangcheng gave his first one-on-one interview since landing in New York today, talking to Anderson Cooper, detailing his journey to America and admitting that he was worried for the family he left home during his at least one-year stay planning in America.

On Anderson Cooper‘s daytime talk show Tuesday, plastic surgery proponent Sarah Burge disclosed that she had her 15-year-old given botox so that she wouldn’t sweat while dancing. As the interview went on, Cooper grew more and more disgusted with Burge, ultimately kicking her off the show.

The Obama campaign spent the better part of the day of attempting to recover from Newark Mayor Cory Booker‘s near-scuttling of a major component of their reelection effort, coming very close with President Obama‘s strong double-down at a press conference this afternoon. Then, Obama campaign spokesman Ben LaBolt took to Anderson Cooper 360 to undo as much of that as he could.

On Monday night’s AC360, in the wake of Vice President Joe Biden‘s comments favoring gay marriage, Anderson Cooper questioned whether President Obama was trying to have it both ways on the issue, without taking a concrete stance.

Anderson Cooper stopped by The Late Show with David Letterman on Friday and candidly dished about his thoughts on the Secret Service prostitution scandal. Cooper, it turns out, has “spent a lot of time” in Cartagena, Colombia — though he acknowledged he had not been to the brothels there.

Last night on a heated edition of AC360, CNN’s Anderson Cooper gave a sharp retort to Rush Limbaugh over his comments that “the silver fox” is “reported more in gossip columns to be at the gym or that bar or a restaurant than he is in the studio,” featuring him on his nightly showcase of ridicule, “The Ridiculist.”

MSNBC’s Ed Schultz‘s The Ed Show beat out Anderson Cooper’s AC360 in the demo and total viewers on Tuesday night. In demo viewers, Schultz racked up 179,000 viewers to Cooper’s 169,000. The margin was even further when you took in account total viewers, where The Ed Show garnered an impressive 965,000 viewers to AC360‘s 557,000. It wasn’t all bad news for Cooper, the CNN anchor improved considerably from the week before, when he had trailed Schultz by over 100,000 demo viewers.

On Wednesday, Rush Limbaugh exuded schadenfreude over CNN’s having the lowest rated month in more than a decade, taking a dig at AC360 anchor Anderson Cooper.

“Silver fox, Anderson Cooper–” Limbaugh ribbed. “I swear, that guy is reported more in gossip columns at the gym, or at that bar or restaurant than he is in the studio! And CNN probably thinks that’s great: ‘That’ll help the demo! Anderson out there doing all this stuff, people will be curious and tune in and watch.’ It isn’t working!”

As with every year, the host monologue at the White House Correspondents Dinner has elicited days of analysis. Last night, said host Jimmy Kimmel appeared on CNN to discuss the event with Anderson Cooper. Like in the Entertainment Weekly interview released yesterday, Kimmel discussed how difficult the room is, pointing out that the audience is made up of politicians who refuse to laugh at half the jokes and journalists too afraid to laugh at any jokes.

The show asked reporters who were present to not write stories about how each round turned out, so the results will not be spoiled before the episodes air.

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh today weighed in on the controversy surrounding remarks made by Democratic strategist Hilary Rosen who said on CNN on Wednesday that former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney’s wife Ann Romney had “never worked a day in her life.” Limbaugh pounced on the remark and said that the Democratic party was waging a “war on motherhood.”

We were first introduced to Anderson Cooper‘s uncontrollable laughing during his RidicuList segment about Gerard Depardieu getting thrown off a flight for allegedly urinating on the aisle carpet. It caught so much attention that Cooper then put himself on the RidicuList for losing it. Well, the infectious laughter is back. On Tuesday night’s segment, Cooper attempted to get through a segment about Dyngus Day (which is a thing) — but, halfway through, totally lost it.

Lawyers Mark Geragos and Jose Baez spoke to Anderson Cooper Tuesday night, following Cooper’s interview with George Zimmerman‘s ex-lawyers Hal Uhrig and Craig Sonner (who withdrew today). Blasting the attorneys’ attributing their decision to “ethical obligations,” Geragos called their conduct a “train wreck.” He added that he felt like he was watching a Saturday Night Live skit.

On his show Thursday night, Anderson Cooper spoke to a new witness in the Trayvon Martin case. The witness, whose identity remains anonymous, described seeing “scuffling” and heard a “painful” scream. As many have been saying, the witness also said George Zimmerman seemed unharmed following the shooting.

The New Black Panther Party: they exist, and they have somehow squeezed themselves into a corner of the Trayvon Martin tragedy, no matter how much no one else– particularly Martin’s parents– want them around. But they are calling for a “citizen’s arrest” of George Zimmerman and leader Minister Mikhail Muhammad spoke to Anderson Cooper today to try to explain just what his group was doing. In the process, he “indicted” Zimmerman with “1st degree murder” and accused Cooper of not “caring about the Martin family.”

George Zimmerman‘s attorney, one Craig Sonner, seemed a bit out of his league when he tried to answer such difficult questions from Anderson Cooper on Friday as “where is your client?” and “did he tell you what happened that night?” So it may not be that big of a shock that he canceled his appearance with Lawrence O’Donnell last-minute tonight. What may come as a surprise is that O’Donnell went on and did the segment anyway, interrogating an empty chair about who was paying its legal fees and what it feared it would have to argue to keep his client out of trouble.

On Friday, MSNBC beat CNN’s programming from 5 to 9pm in both demo and total viewers. Their streak was finally broken by Anderson Cooper‘s AC360 at 10pm, which was competing against a Lockup rerun. Amid the rush of loud outrage and vocal protest from the parents of Treyvon Martin and their supporters the silence of one character in this tragic tale has been deafening: George Zimmerman, the free man who shot Martin and alleges self-defense. His attorney, Craig Sonner, finally spoke out to Anderson Cooper last night, and had few answers but one accusation– his client has a broken nose and a laceration on his skull, and that was “an injury done by Treyvon Martin.”

The 911 call that has many people convinced that George Zimmerman grumbled the phrase “f**kin’ c**ns” moments before shooting and killing 17 year-old Trayvon Martin could loom large when it comes to determining whether the federal government can prosecute the case. CNN, who often takes guff from critics for their sometimes pointless use of whiz-bang technology, put their state-of-the-art tech to good use on Wednesday night’s AC360, isolating and enhancing the audio from that call. The result is, at the very least, more convincing than the raw audio.

On Tuesday night, CNN’s Anderson Cooper had a strong night against his MSNBC competition, narrowly eking out Lawrence O’Donnell in the 10 p.m. slot (In Demo), 246,000 to 245,000. On Tuesday’s AC360, CNN’s Anderson Cooper spoke with two witnesses, Mary Cutcher and Selma Mora Lamilla, who were at the scene of the Florida gated community the night Trayvon Martin was shot to death by George Zimmerman. The two described hearing a gun shot and witnessed Zimmerman straddling Martin’s body.

Anderson Cooper‘s daytime talk show, Anderson, is a marked departure from the hard news he covers in the night, with typically lighter interviews and celebrity encounters. Yesterday, Cooper had Bethenny Frankel, the reality TV star, on the show, and she couldn’t help but challenge Cooper to a push-up contest. In a flowy dress.

Recording artist M.I.A. got into a heated Twitter back-and-forth with Anderson Cooper late Wednesday after she accused him of calling her a terrorist. “What are you talking about?” Cooper incredulously tweeted back.

HLN had an auspicious night in the 8pm time slot as Nancy Grace beat out Anderson Cooper’s AC360 in not only demo ratings but also total viewers. Grace edged out the CNN anchor 122,000 to 109,000 in demo and 436,000 to 382,000 in overall viewership.
