Rudy Giuliani Reveals To Jimmy Fallon That He Bought Crack In 1986
Rudy Giuliani, former New York City mayor and man who may or may not seek the GOP nomination for president, paid a visited Late Night to discuss New York’s bad ol’ days, when men were men, and other men were junkies, and Giuliani bought crack. Needle skip! Huh?
Rudy Giuliani, former New York City mayor and man who may or may not seek the GOP nomination for president, paid a visit to Late Night to discuss New York’s bad ol’ days, when men were men, and other men were junkies, and Giuliani bought crack. Needle skip! Huh?
Giuliani, you see, is hosting AMC’s “Mob Week,” which makes (some) sense given his past prosecuting members of the mafia. Host Jimmy Fallon, fascinated by Giuliani’s anecdotes, asked if he ever had to don a disguise or participate in a stakeout as part of his job. Why yes, replied Giuliani.
Huh? NY Times Ran Spoilers For The Killing Finale (But Wrote About An Ending That Didn’t Actually Happen)
Well, that’s odd. Last night, the AMC murder mystery, The Killing, ended its first season with an episode critics are calling an “absolute trainwreck” (and that’s much nicer than what the Internet commenters are saying). That’s not the odd thing. In fact, it would be lovely if we lived in a world where a crappy TV show was considered “odd” and not, y’know, the norm. No, what’s odd is that the New York Times wrote up a review of the season and the finale that provided spoilers for the ending…and they spoil an ending that didn’t actually happen.
Reports: Creator Matt Weiner On Board For New Season Of Mad Men
The ongoing Mad Men business saga threatening the show’s future appears at an end, with AMC announcing today that the show will go on, and, with negotiations nearing an end, the show’s creator Matthew Weiner will be on board. In a press release today, the network announced a new “long-term” deal for a fifth and six season, hinting at the possibility of even a seventh, with all parties sounding excited to get back to work.
Source Close To Mad Men Negotiations Says Show Will Return In 2012 – With Or Without Matt Weiner
A source familiar with the ongoing (and much buzzed-about) negotiations regarding AMC’s Mad Men has cleared up some widely-circulated misinformation regarding the show’s future plans and impending return.
Despite other reports painting the show’s return as being somewhat up in the air, our source confirms that the show will definitely return in 2012 – with or without the show’s creator, Matt Weiner. Weiner has apparently taken issue with his base paycheck of 30 million dollars.
AMC, Dan Abrams, To Revisit Notorious Unsolved Murder Cases
AMC has tapped ABC legal analyst, author and Mediaite founder Dan Abrams (name sounds soooo familiar, just trying to put a face to it) to anchor an upcoming series of “documentary style” short profiles of some of the nation’s most notorious unsolved murder cases. The series–tied to the premiere of a new AMC drama series, The Killing, which debuts April 3–features three to five minute vignettes on six unsolved cases, including Jon Benet Ramsey, Natalee Holloway and the Zodiac Killer.
Wikileaks, “Top Secret America” And Conspiracies: Rubicon Panel Previews New Show
“Not every conspiracy is a theory.”
The line was repeated several times during a preview screening and panel for the new AMC show Rubicon (which premieres tonight at 8pmET) earlier this week at the Standard Hotel in New York. The lively, and at times heated, panel talked Wikileaks, WaPo‘s “Top Secret America” project and the idea of conspiracy.
Meditations On the Mad Men Season Three Premiere
Yesterday I watched an advanced screener of the season three premiere of Mad Men. At this point it’s hard to imagine anyone not being aware that the show will be debuting tonight on AMC. It has officially become a cultural phenomenon. Here’s some thoughts about the premiere episode and how it might fit into the larger picture. Don’t worry hardcore fans, no spoilers here!
Mad Men Takes Over Twitter
This is the kind of viral marketing that executives dare not even dream about. In fact, while outlets like Gawker have come under fire for their use of sponsored content like Bloodcopy, the folks behind AMC’s “Mad Men” are reaping huge PR dividends for free. Their personalized icons have swept over Twitter like a nuclear daisy.
