SNL’s Stefon And Derek Zoolander Expose The Hottest Halloween Parties In NYC

On SNL, Seth Meyers spoke with Stefon and his new friend New York’s hottest male model Derrick Zoolander about all the hottest nightclubs. Ben Stiller reprised his cult classic character on Weekend Update.

“For too long, Halloween in New York’s been a quiet, almost religiony holiday for old people and babies, but that’s all about to change,” said Stefon. “This year, I’m hosting a VIP blowout in New York’s hottest neighborhood, SoWeHoBeLoHo” That is — “South of West Houston, Below Lower Hoboken.”

“Look, this party’s for charity, okay?” said Zoolander. “All proceeds go to benefit the Derrick Zoolander Foundation for Fat Kids Who Are Fat But Not Like In A Cute Way Like That Fat Kid On Modern Family.”

Stiller’s still got it and showcased his character’s trademark pouty lips.

SNL Takes On Fox And Friends And Hank Williams Jr.’s Hitler-Obama Comparison

SNL took a whack at Fox and Friends and Hank Williams Jr.‘s controversial comments this week.

Guest Ben Stiller appeared as Chris Brooks, Williams’ media representative. He excused the country singer’s remarks by saying “That’s what Hank does. He calls everyone he doesn’t like Hitler. He called some of his friends Hitler!”

“I mean, what did you think he’d say?” exclaimed Brooks. “Look at him! He looks like a truck stop Santa Claus!”

“Are you ready for an apology?” asked SNL’s Williams. “Well, you’re not going to get one ’cause I calls ‘em like I sees ‘em and Obama is Hitler!”

This Is Funny: Zack Galifinakis Interviews Ben Stiller Between Two Ferns

The comedy interview form is easy to replicate, but very difficult to master. Judging by the recent efforts of Zack Galifinakis to interview Ben Stiller on his Funny or Die! produced “Between Two Ferns” bit, Galifinakis has mastered the form. It’s funny. Really funny. Watch and see.

We knew there was going to be an Avatar moment at the Oscars sooner or later, and Ben Stiller gave it to us: Appearing in full Na’vi regalia, he clicked and hissed his love for James Cameron and presented the Oscar for Best Makeup — which Avatar wasn’t actually in the running for. (Star Trek ended up taking the Oscar.) Stiller also claimed to have two Star Trek ears signed by Leonard Nimoy, which we are hoping against hope is true.

Kennedy Center Honors: Jon Stewart Honors The Boss; Plus De Niro, Mel, Obama & More (VIDEO)

Last night CBS broadcast this year’s Kennedy Center Honors, held earlier this month, and it was a pretty lovely affair as Mel Brooks, Robert DeNiro, Bruce Springsteen, Dave Brubeck and Grace Bumbry were honored for their incredible contributions to arts and culture. It was an exceptionally star-studded affair, too — not only on stage but in the audience, where President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama sat with the honorees. Meryl Streep and Marty Scorsese honored De Niro (great story by Scorsese too, about how De Niro got to the essential truth of a character); Carl Reiner honored Brooks, along with Gary Beach and Matthew Broderick from The Producers (“Springtime For Hitler” was especially hilarious considering the locale, and the audience), plus Jack Black in tights; Herbie Hancock honored jazz great Dave Brubeck (on his birthday!), along with an ensemble performance by none other than his sons; and Aretha Franklin (sans hat) honored Bumbry. There were others — Martin Short, Frank Langella, Ben Stiller, Sharon Stone (looking jarringly young), Ed Norton — and then there was the finale: Bruce.

That’s a long introduction, but it really was a great show (and unexpectedly big on Twitter last night — and, as it turns out, in the ratings). I’m glad I watched, glad enough that I want to share it — and this was my favorite part (well, I loved the Susan Stroman-choreographed Mel Brooks medley, too). By now, everyone knows that Bruce is from Jersey, and if you watch Jon Stewart, you know not only that he is, too, but that he is a gigantimungous Springsteen fan. So even seeing him walk out to do the honors was exciting, if you happen to love the Boss (which I do, every since I was told that I wasn’t a beauty but, eh, I was all right).

“When you listen to Bruce’s music, you aren’t a loser, you’re a character in an epic poem…about losers,” joked Stewart, but he also got to the essential, caring core of the Springsteen oeuvre, which has been a constant for the decades, now, that he’s been on top. (That and the cars. Always with the cars.) That emotional component is what made the performance of “The Rising” by Sting and “City of Ruins” by Eddie Vedder so compelling. And it was also awesome to hear that crowd, so fancy there in proper Washington, doing the classic, Jersey-bar-born call: Bruuuuuce.

Ben Stiller Explains Twitter To Mickey Rooney

This is why the Internet was created: For hyper-meta viral videos bridging generational gaps between comedians, one of whom is Mickey Rooney. Full stop.

Mickey Rooney! Still going strong at 89 — check out his ridiculous IMDb page, it’s really unbelievable. Ben Stiller and he worked together on Night At The Museum, ergo fun video playtime.

Rooney says of Twitter: “I don’t find that entertaining.” The video is below — perhaps you will. A note: It’s part of Ben Stiller’s fledgling library of online content on behalf of his Red Hour Films production company (he also joined Twitter earlier this month). So far there are two videos on its YouTube channel, this and a deadpan video of Stiller introducing himself to his new Internet audience and making jokes about status updates (he’ll get there). There’s also a clip from Zoolander, which is jarring when compared to the still of Stiller now. Time marches on; Mickey Rooney was once this guy singing with Judy Garland. Not to mention Mr. Yunioshi.

Anyhow: Mickey Rooney. Funfact: Same birthday as Bruce Springsteen. I’d follow The Boss on Twitter for sure.
