Chris Christie To Endorse Mitt Romney For President
Barely a week after ending speculation that he might run for president, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is set to endorse former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney for the Republican presidential nomination, according to Fox News. Christie’s endorsement cones at a critical time for Romney, as he fends off Herman Cain‘s rocket ride in the polls, and weathers attacks from former frontrunner Rick Perry, going into tonight’s Bloomberg/Washington Post debate.
Herman Cain Wins Florida Straw Poll With 37% Of The Vote
Today’s Florida straw poll results are finally in– and whatever it is they mean for the candidates, well, it isn’t entirely clear. The winner by a 22% margin is former Godfather’s Pizza CEO Herman Cain, trailed Rick Perry and Mitt Romney, only divided by one percentage point.
Watch A Hot Dog-Eating Mitt Romney Stumble Into ‘Surprise’ Fox News Appearance
Ah, the campaign trail: that all-American journalistic adventure where, equipped with a camera, a notepad, and dreams, anything can happen. Just take what happened to “Campaign” Carl Cameron in Iowa today– giving an on-location report of a Republican fundraiser, who is to appear but Mitt Romney, munching on a hot dog and “spontaneously” bumping into Cameron to say hello on camera. If Romney doesn’t win the presidency, this appearance at least merited him a good 27 Oscars.
Fox’s Carl Cameron Interrupted During Budget Report By (Ugh!) Sweetly Singing Children
To Carl Cameron, the presence of a children’s choral group sweetly singing in the Capitol rotunda as Congress pushes ever closer to a government shutdown is “theater of the absurd.” Cameron, who seemed irritated by the sudden harmony of young voices rising to his live location, later lightened up and expressed regret that he couldn’t show viewers the group below him (Fox’s crew did later adjust and provide a shot) and he said the music “sounds pretty good.”
Harry Reid Crashes The Tea Party, Solidly Defeats Sharron Angle In “Huge Win”
In a big blow to the tea party, Senate Majority leader Harry Reid will defeat challenger Sharron Angle – and it looks like it could be by five or six points.
In a night of many GOP victories, the media, almost across the board, agreed it was a “huge win” for Democrats and “disastrous” for Republicans.
Sharron Angle Would Like Reporters To Ask Her Questions She Wants To Answer
Nevada Republican Senate candidate Sharron Angle has an interesting relationship with the press. She’s been known for both running away from reporters, and generally sticking with Fox News and more conservative-leaning outlets.
In an interview with Fox News’ Carl Cameron, she explains why: because reporters should only ask the questions she wants to answer.
Did Carl Cameron Sell Out Fox News To DailyKos? Not According To Cameron
Fox News reporter Carl Cameron sold out his own network to a DailyKos blogger. That’s what a Daily Beast contributor would have you believe. In a story posted yesterday a report claimed that Cameron said that FNC had organized the Tea Party and overreached in their influence over the Sherrod scandal. Mediaite exclusively spoke to Cameron, who explained that much of what was reported was taken out of context.
Shep Smith Compares Arizona Immigration Law To “Driving While Black” Law
For a straight news representative of Fox News, Shep Smith continues to throw in plenty of opinionated asides – and to delightful effect. Today’s example? While discussing Florida senatorial candidate Marco Rubio‘s opposition to the controversial new immigration law in Arizona with reporter Carl Cameron, Smith called the new law the “breathing while Latino law” and later compared it to another racial profiling controversy, the “driving while black law.” Whoa.
Fox News Reports On The Tea Party Convention’s Birther Problem
A Saturday afternoon Fox News report revealed much about the situation on the ground at the Tea Party Convention this weekend in the lead up to Sarah Palin‘s keynote address. The Fox reporter, though, was careful to note that this convention is by no means representative of the entire movement, focusing on the issue of the Birthers, who believe President Obama is not a natural born citizen and are a cause for concern among conservatives wishing to focus more on substantive (factual?) issues.
