Last week we broke the news about Charles Schwab dropping their sponsorship of CNBC’s Fast Money after a segment seemed to tie them to the forthcoming “Porn” documentary on the network.

But Schwab kept their sponsorships of other CNBC programs. One of those was Squawk Box, which wanted to make it very clear yesterday they are fans of the company.

In what appears to be a direct response to last week’s story, Joe Kernen joked about his love of the company (via a tipster):

And how did the “Porn” doc do? It was the second highest rated documentary premiere ever on CNBC.

The exploration into vice that topped Wednesday’s premiere: “Marijuana Inc,” which had almost double the viewership. So you heard it here first, folks: pot is better than porn.

EXCLUSIVE - CNBC's porn special - yes, a CNBC porn special - is ready for its Wednesday premiere, but not everyone is turned on. "<a href="http://www.cnbc.com/id/29960781"target="_blank">Porn: Business of Pleasure," will give viewers who normally want to know about things like oil futures "an unprecedented behind-the-scenes look inside the multibillion dollar pornography business."

According to multiple sources, one sponsor was so turned off it wanted out.

EXCLUSIVE – CNBC’s porn special – yes, a CNBC porn special – is ready for its Wednesday premiere, but not everyone is turned on. “Porn: Business of Pleasure,” will give viewers who normally want to know about things like oil futures “an unprecedented behind-the-scenes look inside the multibillion dollar pornography business.”

Sounds fun right? Not for the all-important business of sponsors.

According to multiple sources, Charles Schwab, a regular sponsor of the 5pmET Fast Money program (as well as others) pulled its sponsorship from the program after a preview segment made it seem like Schwab was associated with the sex doc. Melissa Lee, anchor of Fast Money, also hosts the “Porn” special.

One source tells Mediaite that Schwab did not pull its sponsorships from CNBC as a whole, just chose to move its sponsored segments to other programs.

When asked directly about Schwab’s decision to drop its Fast Money sponsorships, a CNBC spokesperson told Mediaite, “No comment,” but added, “‘The Business of Porn’ is a fantastic documentary which will give CNBC viewers insight into a 15 billion dollar industry.”

Meanwhile, CNBC forgets all about porn tonight when it airs another new documentary about prostitution. The totally not porn-related “Dirty Money: The Business of High-End Prostitution” premieres tonight at 10pmET.

So if you have any suggestions for future sex-related documentaries that can be loosely tied to a financial angle, CNBC is ready to listen.
